@JasonTurbow just had an idea for a book. "The Bochy Effect".
English

@jay_jaffe So glad to have you on board, Jay. That was one hell of a moment.
English

@marcusSDTX Thank you so much for the kind words, Marcus. Rest assured, it was even more fun to report than it is to read.
English

@lvndbsbll What a complement — thanks! Fortunately, this is right around the corner: hachettebookgroup.com/titles/charles…

@DerekStephanBro Thank you! Vida is a poster child for careers that could have been, for any number of reasons. And he still ended up compiling some impressive numbers.
English

@JasonTurbow A great book by the way. Sad Vida struggled with emotional issues that kept him out of the Hall.
English

The Vida Blue news is hitting me hard. The man is central to my 2017 book, Dynastic, Bombastic, Fantastic, with the story of his rise and subsequent battles with Charlie Finley almost too wild for belief. Some thoughts, and an excerpt: bit.ly/RIPVida

@PeteWestPark @WayneTyson11 This is officially my favorite Twitter conversation ever.

Just finished reading "The Baseball Codes" by @JasonTurbow Had me laughing and scratching my head at the same time.
Copyright in 2010, but it will stand the test of time. Funny how honor and cheating seem to be different sides of the same coin in many cases.
Highly recommend!
English

@WayneTyson11 Thanks so much, Wanye. It's amazing how much has shifted in MLB since the book came out -- showboating is generally OK and drilling guys on purpose isn't -- even as the underlying motivation for the codes remains largely unchanged.
English

Just finished a fantastic book by @JasonTurbow about the #OaklandAthletics dynasty in the 70’s and the craziness of the team and owner Charlie O. Finley.
This was an era and team I was completely unfamiliar with and the stories and personalities of the team and owner are finally told in incredible fashion.
Can’t recommend enough!

@JasonTurbow And just now I come out of a meeting to the news that Tina Turner is no longer with us. I have 16 (Ike and) Tina Turner records.
English

@WayneTyson11 @sparkyanderson7 @CodifyBaseball There's a whole new chapter to be written about comportment surrounding the new rules. The line between gamesmanship and dickery is forever being redrawn.
English

@sparkyanderson7 @CodifyBaseball I'll be looking for some video on it. I'm sure there's plenty out there.
Irony: I'm reading "The Baseball Codes" by @JasonTurbow All about gaming the game, unwritten rules, umps getting involved in records. Fascinating. And it makes me scratch my head, too.
English

@JasonTurbow @Bee_Dee10 Happy to help! 😂😂
Are you working on any books right now?
English

@TheVineCard @Bee_Dee10 Thanks, @TheVineCard, for coining the term "The Jason Turbow Collection, " which I will henceforth use to refer to everything from my baseball cards to my sock drawer.
English

@Bee_Dee10 Any from the @JasonTurbow collection. I’m partial to The Baseball Codes the most.
Fiction: The Celebrant by Eric Rolfe Greenberg

English

@ReallyDanWeiner Thank you, Dan. Great story + great characters - media saturation = awesome foundation for a book. Luckily for me, everybody involved seemed to agree.

@IffyTheDopester Joe Morgan sending the Dodgers home for the winter. Or Brian Johnson sending the Dodgers home for the winter. Or Reggie Smith charging into the grandstand after a hot-headed fan, which was great despite the Dodgers not being sent home for the winter. Was there for all of them.

@JasonTurbow What was your favorite moment at the Stick!?
