good vibes only - I am on twitter to support abundant housing. No height limits. No parking minimums. Allow the free market to build millions of new units

There's no positive, inspirational vision of what an American city can be today. The Creative Class vision, best epitomized by peak Portland. And the related Global City vision, epitomized by Bloomberg's New York, were this. But those have faltered and nothing has replaced them.

Oh, and to top things off, it has an urban gondola system for mass transit as well as thousands of homes literally hanging off a cliff.

El Alto is one of the world's most unique cities: a booming settlement of over a million people at nearly 14,000 feet in elevation. Air contains only 60% as much oxygen as sea level, night temperatures drop into the 30s, & the risk of UV exposure is among the highest in the world

Honestly sick of this, and there’s no end in sight. Anyone who says this isn’t a miserable way to live is lying to themselves.

Social media is both real life, and meaningless … but I’ll be a bit sappy bc this week was a blur The way people have responded to both what our team we have done (we built a factory in 6 months AND then built a house with that factory) and what we want to do: build housing for families in every City of country. Insane The number of people who want us to be successful blows me away. Not just bc they think we are smart or like us, (though we appreciate the friends) but those who WANT to see our vision for the world occur Those who have offered their trust/partnership in development or as investors. Overwhelmed Honored to work with a team like this. I have the best partners, and I feel like such a small part. We’ve done what feels like so much, and yet have everything still to do We are going to win. We have to. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

The other thing is that lots of progressive politicians and activists who say they’re “laser focused on affordability” also want to add additional costs to delivery meals in order to better compensate workers, which could lead to conflict with the doordashing masses

Boomers are willfully ignorant because they profit from status quo. They don't want to understand. Talk to a Boomer, see if they understand property taxes... and then ask about inflation, cost of living. It's purely tactical ignorance, motivated reasoning, playing dumb.
Fugitive Caesar@ThomBrady5

every year, the American government takes $2.3 trillion from poor young families and gives it to rich old pensioners ($1.5 trillion Social Security, $900 billion in Medicare). Boomers are welfare parasites crushing fertility while calling young taxpayers lazy.

At @americanhousing, we are *fundamentally* a Real Estate Development company Which means we looking to buy well located land (or JV) where it makes sense to build *infill* attached, non-combustible rowhomes We want to build where young people ALREADY want to live, so they can move out of their apartment, have a kid a stay in the City. Or where a couple can buy a Starter Home in a single family market where they can’t afford the huge house, but want something nice. Our business is buy land, build parts (in a factory), put those parts together on the land and then sell (or rent) the homes In terms of how that process will work … people won’t buy our homes as kits or customize them like a Tesla. They’ll simply a house on Zillow and go “That looks pretty. And it’s down the street from where we live. I think we could afford it. Let’s go look at it.” They’ll take a tour, say “Wow, this IS really nice, and we could see ourselves raising (or starting) our family here.” And then buy it.

@UrbanCourtyard @RepMikeQuigley Alicia, good friends of mine are huge fans of your work and they found a courtyard urbanist building in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Their apartment is four bedrooms three baths with three exposures so light comes in on three sides.

First time I talked to my congressman @RepMikeQuigley, I was helping him unload his car of dozens of pizzas that he was delivering to the annual neighborhood summer party. I had no idea who he was. But then someone told me, and of course I went to chat him up about my ideas about developing an old USPS office and parking lot in the neighborhood as a courtyard block to address problems of family housing affordability in our neighborhood. He was super supportive, but we learned that USPS only answers to God/wouldnt dispose of the property.

my wife called her congressman for the first time in her entire life. she called both our senators and our congressman's office. this was not a result of me passing on radicalizing internet content-- while i was in hong kong she texted me out of the blue to let me know. this issue has broken containment and will wreck republican electoral chances in 2026.
