I'm officially calling for the Cabinet to remove Trump from office under the 25th Amendment. If they can't, Congress must return from recess today and begin impeachment proceedings. Read my full statement below. quigley.house.gov/media-center/p…

Residents of the South Shore apartment building that CBP ransacked this fall just submitted a federal tort claim, pressing the federal government for financial compensation. That night, CBP officials broke down doors, zip-tied kids and their parents, and illegally held residents in unmarked vans for hours. I support them in their case and hope they receive justice soon. We must hold ICE & CBP accountable to ensure this never happens again.  chicagotribune.com/2026/05/13/sou…

I want to take a moment to honor NBA player Jason Collins, who passed away earlier this week from cancer. He was the first out gay player not only in the entire NBA, but in any of the 4 major sports leagues. I had the honor of meeting Jason at a Chicago House benefit many years ago. Before that I got to watch him play for the Minnesota Timberwolves against our @chicagobulls. He was always a kind soul and trailblazer. May he rest in peace.

Discharge Petition #8 will force a vote on the Ukraine Support Act. As Ukraine's forces continue liberating stolen territory, Liberty hangs in the balance. Our effort, 218 strong, shows bipartisan Congressional support for Ukraine's defense of Liberty.

Flooding wreaks havoc on our communities. In Chicagoland, these floods impose a massive financial burden on homeowners—even just a few inches of water can be dangerous. I'm proud to introduce the Flood Mapping Modernization and Homeowner Empowerment Pilot Program Act with @SenatorDurbin and @SenDuckworth to help urban communities better prepare for floods. quigley.house.gov/media-center/p…

Launching the biggest aerial attack yet on Ukraine—1,623 drones and missiles—War Criminal Putin again proves he is not negotiating in good faith. We are working in Congress to help Ukraine defend itself and to pass urgent sanctions. We know Russia won't stop until it is stopped.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський@ZelenskyyUa

As of now, already 5 people have been reported killed in Kyiv as a result of last night’s Russian attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 40 people have been injured in the capital, and another 7 in the Kyiv region. There are already 28 injured in Kharkiv. And two people have been injured in the Odesa region. In total, 180 sites have been damaged across the country, including more than 50 ordinary residential buildings. A search and rescue operation is still ongoing in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district. Efforts continue to find people under the rubble. More than 10 people are reported missing. All necessary services are also operating in the Obolonskyi district. And recovery efforts are underway after Russian strikes in the Poltava region. Overall, more than 750 personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and nearly 750 police officers have already been engaged across the country to eliminate the consequences of the attack. I am grateful to all who help the rescuers and the police Also, earlier today, during a humanitarian mission in Kherson, the Russians twice attacked a vehicle of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs with FPV drones, and the Russians could not have been unaware of which vehicle they were targeting. The Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and eight other staff members were inside. Fortunately, no one was injured. The mission personnel have been evacuated. Even so, a significant number of missiles and drones were shot down during these attacks – the overall interception rate is over 93%. Of course, it needs to be higher. And of course, the most difficult challenge is defending against ballistic missiles. I thank everyone who is helping us with this. There must be a just response to all these strikes. And pressure on Moscow must be such that they feel the consequences of their terror there. It is important that global sanctions against Russia remain in place. Russia’s accountability for this war, and our sanctions pressure, must work at full strength. And it is also very important that the world does not stay silent about this terror and stands with Ukraine.

Joe Biden has been out of office for nearly a year and a half and the Trump administration is still blaming him, rather than taking responsibility for our current issues.   The housing crisis still exists. The economy is even worse. But they refuse to work with Democrats to get things done.

Trump’s HUD Secretary said Americans should get “equal rights, not extra rights.” We all know Trump and Turner think anti-discrimination laws give LGBTQ+ people “extra rights.” That’s why the Trump Administration wants to eliminate HOPWA, which provides #housing for people with HIV and AIDS.   HOPWA has had bipartisan support for 30 years, and it’s not going to stop now.

I cross-examined Trump’s Housing Secretary Scott Turner on how the administration is cutting funding that helps people who are homeless — all while discriminating against LGBTQ+ Americans and people of color. Take a look here. youtu.be/QCq7RRalkgQ?si…

It's National Police Week!🚔 This week, we honor the bravery and dedication of our law enforcement. Today, I'll be proud to vote yes on House Resolution 1252, which will make National Police Week official for years to come and honor officers killed in the line of the duty.   I also want to take a moment to honor CPD Officer John Bartholomew, who was recently killed at Swedish Hospital in my district. My heart goes out to his family, and I wish his partner, Officer Nelson Crespo, an easy recovery as he fights in the ICU.   I also want to acknowledge CPD Officer Aréanah Preston, who was killed in the line of duty a few years ago. I recently had the privilege of attending her memorial service and meeting her loved ones.

Looks like a cute show—if it didn’t feature a government official vacationing, funded by the firms he’s in charge of regulating, while gas prices soared and TSA agents missed paychecks.

Out of touch doesn’t begin to cover it.

Here's the trailer for the reality show that Trump Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy spent 7 months filming. A non-profit run by a transportation industry lobbyist and funded by companies that Duffy regulates paid for the show.

Trump’s Department of Justice has still refused to follow the Epstein Files Transparency Law. Instead of protecting survivors, they left their names in the few files they released—all while redacting Epstein’s email buddies' names.

All the files have to be released. All the names must be unredacted. The public deserves to know the truth.

I woke up one day with my name mentioned over 500 times. While the rich and powerful remain protected by redactions, my name was exposed to the world. Now reporters from across the world contact me—I cannot live without looking over my shoulder.

I am heartbroken over the death of Chicagoan Kevin Gonzalez. Just a day after he was reunited with his parents who were denied emergency visas to visit him, Kevin passed away from stage 4 cancer. Under this administration, there is no room for compassion.    I hope that Kevin’s memory is a blessing to his family and I will continue to fight against Trump’s cruel immigration policy.

Yesterday, the President could barely keep his eyes open during a maternal health event in the Oval Office—right after he spoke. This has happened multiple times this year. I am again calling for President Trump to take an independent cognitive assessment.
