I’ve been thinking a lot about the role #humans will play in the future of #technology, especially as #AI, #autonomous systems, and #robotics continue to evolve. As systems evolve into AI and agent-driven interactions, humans become even more important. Behind every system are people defining the goals, guardrails, and outcomes, and those decisions shape how technology impacts the world. As things become more autonomous, it’s critical that humans stay in the driver’s seat to ensure it’s used responsibly and actually benefits people. That’s what led me to start Humans in Technology, a place to highlight and connect humans in technology who are shaping our world. It’s part podcast, part community, and part directory. The goal is simple. Create a space where people can share ideas, connect, and discuss technology and what it means to be human in the midst of it. Over time, I’d also love to see this grow into local chapters with both in person and virtual meetups. If you’re building, leading, working in, or just love technology, please create a profile and I hope to have some of you on the podcast in the future. Would also love your feedback and suggestions as this continues to evolve. HumansinTechnology.com

@Jason_Franklin Humans stay in the driver's seat by defining boundaries, not micromanaging execution. We run 113 scheduled tasks daily. Owner sets the wallet, revenue targets, failure thresholds. System operates within those boundaries. Autonomy doesn't mean unsupervised — it means well-bounded.

Picked up a few more long-tail / niche .com domains recently. I like these types of names because they often sit outside the obvious investor radar but still have clear development or investment potential. A few interesting ones 👇 1️⃣ TexasPanhandle․com A regional name covering the northern part of Texas. This area includes: • Palo Duro Canyon – often called the 2nd largest canyon in the U.S. • The city of Amarillo • Historic Route 66 running through the region Feels like a good fit for a regional travel site, possibly monetized with day-trip tours and travel affiliate programs. 2️⃣ Malaren․com Refers to Lake Mälaren, right next to Stockholm, Sweden. This lake is historically significant as one of the centers of early Viking civilization, surrounded by castles and historic towns. Short, clean name with both: • travel development potential • strong brand feel 3️⃣ MovieCostumes․com This one was inspired by the legendary sale of HalloweenCostumes․com, which reportedly sold for around $1M and later became the leading online Halloween costume retailer in the U.S. “Movie Costumes” is a more long-tail keyword, but still a clear category within the costume industry. Could work as: • an ecommerce brand • a niche costume marketplace • or a movie / cosplay costume hub 4️⃣ Collations․com In English, collation generally means organizing, compiling, or assembling information or documents. So this could potentially work for: • data tools • document processing utilities • text or dataset organization platforms Interestingly, in French (especially in Quebec) collation commonly refers to a snack or light meal. So the domain carries two different meanings depending on language. 5️⃣ Plaquemine․com A historic city in Louisiana, USA (population around 7,000). Known for: • historic architecture • Mississippi River scenery • nearby industrial growth The name comes from a French word referring to persimmons. Could have potential for: • local real estate • regional tourism • or a city guide site. I've always liked picking up long-tail geo and category domains like these. They may not look flashy at first glance, but many of them have clear development paths or specific end-user markets. Sometimes those are the most interesting bets.

This is true. Sometimes it takes someone else seeing potential in something and making a move, before others take interest. If that someone taking interest makes a lot of good forward thinking calls, that turn out to often be correct, that makes a difference to. This seems to happen with domains, similar to how it happens with products and trends. Reminds me of the Innovation Adoption Curve aka the Rogers Diffusion Curve.

Remember when Dharmesh bought OS.Ai and then suddenly end-users were lining up to buy it. Nobody cared before he bought it. Seems like the owner of a name is a bigger factor in its desirability than most would think…

Every AI agent that books a flight, sends an email, calls an API, or verifies identity does it through a domain. Not a wallet. Not a token ticker. A domain.

I built this tool in a week to see if I could and see if it would be useful. I really like the output for podcasts. Trying to refine it now for city council meetings, which I find mind-numbingly boring but for which it’s critical for citizens to understand. It’s not open yet but if you have a podcast and want access, let me know. If you just want me to run a show/video through it, post a link.

X followers are fickle. It was like this even when the platform was called Twitter. Whenever I look at my X account the follower number looks like Bitcoin prices. Up, down. Up, down. Up, down. When I follow someone there is usually reasoning behind it, and I don't unfollow them unless there would be better reason. It's just weird. Maybe I'm getting followed, unfollowed by bots. That's my observation for today. Also, Happy Martin Luther King Jr. day.

@ClaireFosterPHD What? He's let fraud run so rampant. Tim Walz never has been and never will be Presidential.

This might not be the right time to say this.. but Tim Walz seems very presidential tonight. He just became a top contender in my eyes.

@DavidLeavitt USA Regime change happened November 2024. Biden who was still acting as head of the Obama regime (with Obama secretly pulling the strings) was replaced.
