@JasperRLZ I apologize; I am unfamiliar with the deeper technical aspects of scaling models on the Wii. I will add a reply to my post quoting yours and explaining that the nose is merely odd due to being scaled in a different manner from the rest of the model. I hope this is acceptable.

In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Bowser secretly has a large nose that is never seen in-game due to always being scaled down to a normal size at runtime.

@EliasDaler @FreyaHolmer The answer is that a lot of the heavier math is done in recycled vec3's, which tends to look like register allocation. #L99-L119" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/magcius/noclip… . I've found that JS escape analysis isn't great, and while browser GCs are much better than they were when I started, they're still bad.

so, what's the allocation friendly way to return two numbers in js? (without passing in an existing array/object to populate) I'm worried `return new Vec2(x,y);` will put pressure on the GC every frame (and yes, I miss stack allocated structs from C# ;-; )

Added support for Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door's animated models to my model viewer, they're *mostly* working. 🙃 Huge thanks to @trawk, @JasperRLZ, @PistonMiner, and follyfoxe, I heavily relied on their viewers and documentation for understanding this format.

@adkravetz Literally different measures. One was % of grads who were hired, one was % of enrolled who were hired. But then both were taken out of context and from different cohorts so it makes no sense to compare them.

As you may have seen, BloomTech reached a settlement with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regarding ISAs (which we largely stopped using in 2021, and no longer offer today). We decided to settle the matter because it was clear that ongoing litigation would be extremely time consuming, incredibly expensive, and distract us from our core mission. We do so without agreeing to or denying any of the allegations in the consent order. BloomTech continues to focus on its core mission: improving the lives of students and enabling them to fulfill their economic potential. While it’s been frustrating, we’re glad to put this behind us.

Was trying to figure out why I wasn't properly parsing the lightmaps correctly on this wall in the Depths, then realized that it's actually broken in game. nice work lol

@JasperRLZ Yeah they're definitely generally a lot more *lively*, but their debut album has quite a few tracks that are closer to a slow funky bossa nova, might be more up your alley.

Managed to reverse engineer the Dark Souls water shader. They use a deferred target for a water heightmap and construct the displacement normal based on that. Fun stuff.

@Per_Vertex It only handles a single directional light source (set per object). Technically there's also reflections but I don't render those yet. It's Rei Harakami. The Orange Pekoe I've heard so far has been much less.. ambient? Less synths, more guitars and E pianos. Any recommendations?

@JasperRLZ Pretty nice, does each water surface take it's surroundings into account? or rather how does it decide what light sources to cull and/or take into account for specularity? i.e., water in tunnel not reacting to the skybox lightsource also Is that Rei Harakami or Orange Pekoe?

@DevSpacePrez You could do it forward as well with a few small tweaks, I think they mostly just do deferred so they can have ripple particles render to the water heightmap as well.

@RobinPayot The main one is that the triangle wave particles never show up in-game while the ocean as any height, only around areas where it becomes flat, mostly around the bigger islands. You're also missing fog on the ocean, which is one of the more important ways the game contrasts depth.
