Disastrous day for farmers in #Punjab #Haryana #Delhi #Rajasthan & west #UttarPradesh as the region experienced rains and #hailstorms causing damage to standing wheat crops. Next spell of such severe weather is expected in north #India during 3rd - 6th April then on 8th - 10th April. So farmers are left with only 1st and 2nd April to harvest the wheat crop if ready, else every spell of wind, rain and storms from here will have compounding damage on crops. #Severewx #DelhiRains

Today I highlighted in parliament how Punjab was the only State in the country which had been denied it’s State capital following reorganisation in 1966. Asking why Punjab was being discriminated against, I stressed that the State had not been granted it’s capital even in 1970 when then Prime minister Indira Gandhi announced that Chandigarh would be transferred to Punjab. In 1985 the Rajiv - Longowal accord also ratified the transfer of Chandigarh to Punjab and even stipulated a date for the same but the State was still denied its right. I highlighted how the issue is still languishing after sixty years & that Punjab should be granted it’s own capital just like other States, including Andhra Pradesh, which was recognized as the sole and permanent capital of Andhra Pradesh in parliament today.

It led to global reforms in pediatric anesthesia that required proper pain relief for infant surgeries. The paper has been cited more than 2,700 times.

#Punjab 91.28% of Budget will go towards paying interest on loans, employees salary, pensions & power subsidy. Debt to GDP ratio=46% Debt=₹4.47 lakh crores And the ₹9,300 crore burden of financial assistance scheme for women, leaves only ₹1,705 crore for any investments !
