@bomani_jones Easy fix for me…every challenge requires the use of a timeout. You’re stopping the game anyway, should cost a timeout. I imagine it would lead to less benign challenges, too.

“I don’t see a world where John Lynch ever gets fired by the 49ers. Same thing with Kyle Shanahan. They have stabilized that franchise. If you remember how things were for several years before they got there, it was a constant churn. It was the end of the Jim Harbaugh era, which became the Jim Tomsula era, which became the Chip Kelly era. The 49ers are competitive year after year. They certainly, I think it’s fair to say, have supplemented a lot through trades and at times, through free agency because they’ve had some misses in the draft.”

Niners rightfully getting killed for reaching this week, but I actually thought the Stribling pick was fine.
Obviously a reach on the consensus board, but Jeremiah, Brugler, and others were talking up Stribling as someone who could go early Day 2.

This is key background insight from @RichEisenShow: Kyle Shanahan said that there were "rumors in league circles, not media, that some people had [De'Zhaun Stribling] as their top receiver on their board" and that that he got a few texts from other teams after the 49ers' selection at #33 expressing disappointment that SF had nabbed the WR ahead of them. Shanahan said the 49ers considered trading back to around #40 but, based on their NFL intel, deemed it just a 50/50 chance that Stribling would still be around by #40. Therefore, SF pulled the trigger at #33
