Okay, the F1 Japanese GP qualifying is done, key takeaways? -Mercedes PU might have been turned up a little in Q3 -McLaren is running an underdeveloped car and is still only 4 tenths behind, rivals should be worried -Ferrari's problem is the PU, big time! -Max might hate the regs, but he probably hates losing more,so..time to wake up I guess -Kimi Antonelli is improving, Russell needs to be careful Hope we have a fun one tomorrow!

@the_zb_ The pole time from aus was 8s faster then the pole time in 2015. They aren't exactly going slow. It is what it is for the 1st year of the regs. Just stop moaning and enjoy it

🇨🇳 Sprint Race - Initial Thoughts (These are my unabashed thoughts - a little spirited discussion is great, but if you’ve pre-decided you don’t want to hear it, gleefully move along) Watching the cars go so slow for energy starvation vs what an F1 car can actually do… is still really disorienting and jarring to the brain. Is it for you? My brain can’t help it, you see cars on a race lap going around a corner and you think “is it a VSC, did I miss something?” No, we’re just taking the high speed corners at 60%. 🙂‍↕️ But I’m trying to find the silver linings. It still feels tarnished, but some little glimpses of improvement compared to week 1… with other things equally bad. Ultimately, some teams have simply dropped the ball on the start procedures for their cars. Ferrari have nailed that part of it. I feel no sympathies based on how that whole dynamic has gone with the teams and the FIA, who had ample warning and chance to solve this issue with regulatory change or car design. Some chose neither, now let them sleep in that bed. Most of the “excitement” we are seeing in race trim will subside once teams get the deployment debacles sorted out, as being able to use the “overtake” button will disappear. Ironically, the poor adaptation to the regs is temporarily keeping the casual observer or those that don’t really get what is actually happening with the energy back and forth, “engaged”. It’s an easier sell for F1 to spin the yo-yo racing as “look at all the overtaking!” A little timidness from Russell kept the Ferraris in play here, but there’s still pace in the Merc to stay at arm’s length when given 4-5 laps to get position and steady themselves. SC made an otherwise easy outcome more labored. And the elephant in the room… Kimi has, thus far, not shown why he’s in a Mercedes seat. It’s not like an emergency situation for some radical in-season change, but Toto has to have some sort of timeline in his mind to see progression, before a hard decision regarding the lineup in 2027/2028. Tight racing from the Ferraris, good to see them race hard without colliding. Lewis looking racey again is very good. I didn’t expect it, but Leclerc was a little quicker, in China of all places. Not sure if that will hold up for the GP or not. But if they’re going to let the two cars race each other (which is not always the right call), they need to decide that quicker than they often do. The racing all still feels a bit hollow considering the non-human randomness of much of it. you’ve still got cars doing different electrical harvesting and deployment lap to lap while the driver is doing the exact same thing… so it’s not too fun for adaptive software to matter in racing outcomes without driver control. I’m never going to like that. But the inherent track traits of Shanghai aren’t as poor as Albert Park was. I realized that I’m not able to watch this current iteration of F1 as a fan that’s invested in outcomes. Right now it feels more distant, like an exercise of observation and reflection. I’m aware of the reduction of the human input into the outcome, so it feels disingenuous to treat it otherwise. I hope I don’t feel that way forever, because that’s a bummer. but that’s just where I’m at with it. The sport has lost some luster. I am genuinely hopeful for some adjustments inbound after Shanghai that begin to directly address these exact issues of energy starvation and how it’s led to an algorithmically driven product - if they don’t make some tweaks, it will lead further in that direction as the regs mature. What were your thoughts on the Sprint? On to GP Quali and the Feature Race.

@FastestPitStop @F1 So there’s only one opportunity to be able to open up the wings for an entire lap? If you get ahead at turn 1 (you were within 1 second at turn 14) your opponent has no chance to catch up as they won’t be able to open the front and rear or use boost?

Wasn’t going to put this on here but fuck it. Traveled up North today with my daughters, stopped somewhere outside Tamworth to get a coffee this afternoon. My 14 year old has gone in to the shop whilst I sorted the car, no more than 30ft from where I was. She comes back to the car a few minutes later frightened and upset. Some foreign invader cunt has approached her as she came out the shop asking how old she is and telling her how beautiful she is etc. Again, she is 14. Headloss ensues obviously. Invader cunt is gripped up and forced to apologies and promise he will never approach any young girls ever again, completely peacefully of course officer. But what would have happened if I wasn’t there? Why should she have had to be made to feel that way? Why do the bleeding heart liberals care more for foreign men than our own teenage girls? It’s like we’re living in the fucking twilight zone, absolutely nothing makes sense any more in this this country & it’s either going to put me in an early grave or prison unless something changes

You can't hate the mainstream media enough. With a headline like that, you'd think the dad shot her because of a political argument. Nope! The father was never charged, and the grand jury (June 2025) declined to indict him, citing insufficient evidence of criminal wrongdoing, deeming it accidental. Police initially investigated it as possible manslaughter, noting the father's alcohol consumption and that the shooting occurred while he handled a gun. Their investigation found that the political argument was not the motive or the cause of the shooting. This is what I mean when I say that the MSM does not report the news with the "truth" as the primary centering principle. They promote an agenda, increase the political temperature, and push clickbait for a desperate last gasp for revenue before they are all made redundant. Meanwhile, the casualties are the gullible masses who see the headline and make assumptions without any investigation.

@Siggyv I dont get how people are saying its amazing. Its truly dreadful. It has too many systems for the game it is, the gunplay is horrid, the loot phase is crap. Not to mention its so, so dull. Matches either last 5 mins or 30 and all the time its just boring. At least its free.

Once again, another brilliant turnout on an early Sunday morning in Brentwood at the Thatchers Arms. It was absolutely chucking it down when we started… and still loads of men turned up. That says everything. 8am, men from all ages and all walks of life coming together for our men supporting men’s mental health walk. Everyone is welcome. It’s completely free. Anyone can come. And we’re doing it every single Sunday. Each week it’s getting busier and busier, and if it helps just one person, then that’s enough for me. What I love seeing is men actually talking. Getting things off their chest. Supporting each other. If you’ve had a good week, turn up and help lift someone else. If you’ve had a bad week, come down and vent. There’s no judgement here. None of that. We don’t look at you like that…. We are all here to support one another. Week on week, watching this grow, it’s genuinely powerful to see men supporting men. So thank you to everyone who turned up again today, rain and all. Another lovely Sunday. Proper proud. See you all again same time next week. Bosh. 👊❤️

We found out during a late ultrasound that our son was going to be born without eyes. What I didn’t expect was for the doctor to ask if we wanted to abort him. We had just seen him in a 3D ultrasound moving around and otherwise healthy. Holding back tears, we both told him no, we are keeping him. He deserved to live even though he experiences life differently. Here he is as a baby and now at age 11.

Get this: Had our insurance payout offer come through yesterday….. Offered us full current retail (which I was more than happy with) minus pre-accident damages 🤨 of £343! Rang them today as other than some scuffs to the alloys there was no ‘pre-accident damage’. They are charging us for the damage to the grill of which was technically pre-accident but as explained below literally 2 minutes prior as part of the overall situation. Also damage to the rear bumper, of which wasn’t there when CoPart took the car from us, both us and CoPart have the pictures as proof so really do not know how this has come to be 🙃 But the most ridiculous thing is this - They are charging us to Valet the car 🤣 A car we were told not to touch until CoPart collected, would definitely be written off and they know was used as a family car so had one of our Sons in plus 2 car seats at the time of this incident. Safe to say we’ve rejected their offer and they are ‘re-visiting’ how these mistakes were made. Still didn’t offer us full retail outright as it can take another 5 working days apparently 🫤

Not a great start to Monday morning 😭 Lady in front of my Wife spun out on some black ice on the school run, wife couldn’t avoid it either but managed to slow down enough to not have a terrible impact despite having to hit the black ice herself ⚫️🧊 Moments later a BMW X7 tried to ‘Squeeze’ past both cars that were at a standstill (with their hazards on) and creased the side of her car causing further damage 🙃 Shall wait to hear from the insurance but I think this will write the car off sadly due to the age, value & mileage 🤦‍♂️ Main thing is all involved were not hurt including my Wife and 18 month old 🙏
