@SO2portaloos @SapperPantsoff @SNAFU_Sara No, however it’s the honours system that I have the biggest issue with. ORs get palmed of with coins, commendations etc that an officer would likely get an MBE for.

Talking to a soldier form the UK and he called our medals cheap (talking about the craftsmanship quality, not wrong) then processed to show me engraved medals and I’m 🤯. Meanwhile us US guys gotta buy our own medals.

@juleshad @Cookie2148 @juleshad i'm frustrated (yes it's emotional) because, i've been in Africa 3 years, working in isolation, at reach, and delivering change in multiple AU HQs. Creating relationships with non-mil orgs, and being offered roles in the UN; should i apply. But no Brit Mil CV award. 🙂

@Cookie2148 @JayRochester_ Cookie, you at FKSE award criteria. A couple of years ago I had spent a year in Africa working across UN, EU, WHO, MAG, HALO, HM Embassy, Partner Nations and Host Nation Govt to be awarded DE Practioner. Told that DE expert related to MB posts who understood process.

@Cookie2148 Ack'd and agreed, big fan, I'm friendly forces. 🙂 But, (friendly 'But') is there currently no Prog Castle challenge process to a qualification eligability, particulary one that affects promotion and employment? More than happy to do the leg work.

I've done the 6000mile return journey between Kenya and Ghana over 20 times, this is probably my final time today, thankfully. Just as we drop down to 30000ft, we banked right and out of the left side was Mount Kenya, above the clouds, i'm guessing around 50 -70 miles away.

Help! I'm conducting an MA Education. It's time for me to decide what to do for my dissertation. As Africa is of big interest to the UK I'm thinking something like "How can a Western Military conduct capability enhancing training to an African Union Military" Open to ideas...

@Average_S0ldier This has been in place an various units for quite sometime, and has worked well. It obviously didnt speed up recovery of peoples aliments, but it did streamline those who needed some encouragement to get themselves fixed and kept an eye on individuals who had become complacent.

@WHearnshaw @Cookie2148 The civil service do this very well. Their job spec is also thier contract, so it is a very well written and detailed document. ORs have a generic 6-8 lines with little detail. There should be a paragraph on Job, Livestyle, Risks, Family impact, etc IOT make an informed choice.

@Cookie2148 I'm trying hard to think of if I've ever seen an E1 Job Spec and I don't think I ever have. So it's starting from a blank slate. Can't see it happening by January!

A CASTLE update – a 🧵 We are in Year 4 of a 7-year programme; we have an excellent whole force team and the support of Deloitte. We're often accused of inactivity in the first 3 years. But shouldn’t forget that our predecessors gathered resources £££, and built the team.

@Cookie2148 Love these games, but i need to be in the mood. If having a rough day or mind else where, i could easily lose my rag with them... How long for each answer? Assuming its about 10 seconds. 3 was difficult, 4 is showing fractioning of a quarter.

@tonyru6139 @MajSteveParker Agree in part. I would agree there are other ways of setting a standard to get the little things right. This one would be nearer the bottom of my list. Amyway, you're on holiday, stop playing on your phone. 🤣
