@americaneedshim @realChadGPT @ranghad_ @Morbidful If I’m not mistaken he killed the wife first and then one of the two little girls walked in on the mom dead while he was cleaning up — so I think he figured in a sense they were witnesses and would say “daddy did something to mommy”
English

@realChadGPT @ranghad_ @Morbidful Wouldn’t his twisted logic lead him to maybe killing only his wife then? Nothing will ever explain why he then went on to kill his two little girls.

This police bodycam footage shows the authorities having a conversation with Chris Watts about the disappearance of his pregnant wife and their two children.
In the background a disturbing TV advertisement can be seen that features pregnancy and death.
Unbeknownst to the police at the time, Chris had committed the heinous act of killing his own family.
He was eventually arrested and in court he received five life sentences without the opportunity for parole, with three to be served consecutively.

@RachelWong15331 @RutgersAltRoute Yep understandable!
I’d suggest still giving that positive aspect and then just adding that if they’d like review where they went wrong during your office hours you’d be happy to or guide them to a classmate that you know understands it well
English

@JayZonday @RutgersAltRoute I do like the idea of offering constructive feedback. I have only 32 minute classes so every conversation or feedback offered needs to be related to the learning objective and offer constructive feedback related to it.
English

Feedback is a compass for improvement and not all feedback is created equally. For Q4 share your content area and consider your best practices and those you would like to try #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset

English

@JayZonday @RutgersAltRoute I think you are doing a wonderful job.

@RutgersAltRoute A5: The biggest challenge and may be unique to me - but being at private special education school with 1:1 aides for each student (I have 11 students). It is incredibly hard to keep all of my staff on the same page at all times with a growth mindset #GrowthMindset #TeacherEd
English

This morning's 5th and final Q is on assessment #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset
“You can enhance or destroy students’ desire to succeed in school more quickly and permanently through your use of assessment than with any other tool you have at your disposal.” – Dr. Rick Stiggins

English

@angelnh84 @RutgersAltRoute Exactly! They should really know and feel that you are there to support them and help them grow -- not there to just magnify their mistakes
English

@JayZonday @RutgersAltRoute Constructive feedback is important in every classroom. Having understanding and communication with your students let them you are not the enemy you just want to make they know what they are talking about.
English

@RutgersAltRoute Constructive feedback: "You made a mistake in your calculation, but I appreciate your effort. Let's go through the steps together to see where the error occurred." (2/2)
#GrowthMindset #TeacherEd
English

@RutgersAltRoute I believe it's highly valuable to give both positive AND constructive feedback to your students consistently;
Positive feedback: "I can see that you worked hard to solve that problem. Your persistence paid off!" (1/2)
#GrowthMindset #TeacherEd
English

@RutgersAltRoute A3: There are many different ways to cultivate a growth mindset but I like to do it by encouraging risk-taking and learning from mistakes, emphasize effort and process, provide specific and constructive feedback, set high expectations and provide support
#GrowthMindset #TeachEd
English

Framing, or how teachers introduce new concepts and tasks to students, is the focus of Q3. Framing can steer students to a fixed or growth mindset. It helps students feel free to be a work in progress as they learn. #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset

English

For Q2, consider the expectations you communicate to students (verbal and nonverbal) through your classroom climate, course material & response opportunities #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset
Tip: Be specific to your content & connect with others using a # like #ArtsEd #litchat #scichat

English

@RutgersAltRoute A2: Teachers should and can model positivity & respect for themselves and others in the classroom-- this will help set the tone of the classroom of inclusivity and students will definitely begin to feel more comfortable & conform to the class culture #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset
English

Teachers have the power to influence the mindset of students.
As you answer #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset Question 1, consider your own experience, readings, and what Carol Dweck refers to as the power of “yet” (youtu.be/hiiEeMN7vbQ?si…)

English

@RutgersAltRoute be stagnant! You will have to first adjust and work on the student's mindset before you can manage to tackle the academic hurdles & struggles (the student has to want to succeed for themselves) #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset
English

@RutgersAltRoute A1: Mindset inherently presents a lot of challenges and opportunities for learning and development because default it plays a huge role in a student's motivation and attitude towards academics -- therefore if the mindset is offkey then learning will 1/2 #TeacherEd #GrowthMindset
