90% on Rotten Tomatoes for @NorthwoodPie It’s an amazing dream come true, even if it doesn’t hold. This is more than we ever expected to happen with the movie. I didn’t even think we were going to get an RT page or have the movie be available around the world but here we are!

I think it’s disgusting the United States charges $100 per person visiting our country to enter a National Park. Embarrassing too!

somethin weird I’ve noticed this year when a movie comes out theres a lot of talk and press about whether it made or if its going to make its production cost back? since when in the history of ever have people cared about how much it cost to make a movie & if it’ll make it back?

@LukeBarnett Who rides with the kids!??? And why do families pay the same price and get fast passes (those don’t exist anymore) for space mountain but I’m not allowed too?

My Disney pitch: Leave Fantasy Land to the families. Kids or adults accompanying kids only. Space Mountain, Pirates, etc? Sure. But do you, a 45 year old hanging out at the park with no kids REALLY need to ride Dumbo? Also, make Fast Passes for families only. It's a park for kids, let the kids go to the front of the lines.

Folks, the 2026 Box Office is on fire. This is the best Box Office run Cinema has seen since COVID & we are just getting started. I’m going to continue to reiterate the following: 2026 will be one of Cinema’s biggest years of our lives. This is such a fantastic time for Cinema.

One of my favorite new Oscar rules comes in Original Song: "For songs submitted as the first new music cue once end credits begin, the submitted video clip must include the final 15 seconds of the film before the credits roll." #Oscars #Oscars2027

We’ve legit lost the plot. I honestly have zero idea what people are looking for these days but there needs to be a major shift in criticism. The movie I saw was well written, well directed, beautifully shot, insanely well performed and the sound was amazing

At a park in Plano, TX with my 5-year-old. We are surrounded by foreigners, speaking multiple foreign languages, making it more difficult for my son to make friends. This is my hometown. It’s unrecognizable. I want my country back.

@b0newalljackson Because it’s epic, I saw it at that age and had no issues. I saw the lost world in theaters at 4. At 8 we watched alien and aliens back to back. People are too sheltered today

The studios decided they are tech companies. They chased after Netflix or more importantly, Netflix's stock valuation. They purposely blew up the theatrical window to promote their streaming apps. They knew they were sacrificing theatrical profit for streaming position and they had to do it very fast. Since covid, they have trained the audience to believe the thing they are selling, portions of time, should be a close to free experience. They tried to hook the audience on their streaming apps by pushing their biggest movies at unreasonably low subscription cost, which was just a drug dealer trying to hook a customer. It was at the expense of the artists who make these movies, who depend on distribution revenue. The product is only as valuable as the rarity of it. The studios are traditionally in the "distribution" business, controlling the windows of rarity and setting the value of access. What has happened is distribution is not the primary business now, subscription is. The studios are in the app business. They are no longer selling movies, they are selling apps. The movies are there to advertise the apps. The audience loves movies. They do value theatrical experience. It's a fundamental part of humans to share stories in a communal space. You're not killing concerts, or churches, sporting events, political rallies, bars, clubs, or movie theaters. But you can train an audience to devalue any of these things if you make them believe sitting alone at home is the best way to experience anything. That is what studios are telling everybody by cutting the theatrical window short as possible to get the app in your phone. If the studios reanalyze what they are, realizing the distribution is as important as the app, they would widen the windows. I think it's already happening by the way. They need a Hail Mary.
Joseph Kahn@JosephKahn

The solution to the theatrical problem is very simple. Extend the time before it goes to streaming. Make it 180 days. 6 months. If you don't watch it in theaters you won't get to see it for a long time. Studios have devalued their product by letting the consumer know there's no urgency. They're going to see it for "free" later. They've cheapened the business into a buffet and violated basic supply and demand.

If the reported over/under $175 million budget is indeed accurate, then, unless the film is an inpenetrable-for-casuals dumpster fire, this guestimated $71 million Fri-Sun domestic debut (which would mean around $90 million over the Fri-Mon launch) qualifies as a solid start.

@HighHeelEsquire She is THIRTEEN. If she was 16 or 17, yes this would be crazy overbearing. What are they doing at just 13 they don’t want the mom to see? She’s too young to be totally unsupervised. I don’t think this is too much at all. They’re babies.

So you mean to tell me, an airplane can go right through the World Trade Center that had steel structure beams of 4 inch plate every 40” using 12 different grades of steel with a yield strength of 100,000 psi but if the same plane were to run into a firetruck on a runway the plane is completely destroyed. Got it!
