@BrianSuttererMD Feel the same way with allied health professionals having Doctor in their title. Most don’t mean harm, but the public thinks physician. Just use DPT, OTD, PhD after your name.

everyone wants a village, but no one wants to be a villager > drive your friends to the airport > go to their party even when you're tired > stop cancelling last minute > host at your place > support the wins & losses it's worth every ounce of effort

Hate to break it to you guys but sometimes you have to do things you don’t like for the sake of having a community. Avoiding consistency with the people in your life is working against us and the data already shows it. If you think connections can be sustained on absence carry on

@JeremyBurnhamMD Rehab is un-needingly more challenging with quad tendon vs. patellar tendon. They get there, but why add 2-3 months if you don’t need to.

Quad tendon: 2x the cross-sectional area of patellar tendon, 38% greater load to failure, 68% greater stiffness, and less harvest-site pain (Shani et al., 2016). Re-rupture rate: QT 2.5% vs. hamstring 8.7%, p=0.01 (Hurley et al., 2022). A meta-analysis of 2,962 patients across 32 RCTs found QT superior to both BTB and hamstring on key outcome measures (Yang et al., 2020). BTB is still a great graft, but the data on QT keeps getting stronger.

@BrianSuttererMD It’s not. But would it not be safer for him to sit the playoffs. Have the whole offseason and start play again at 18 months?

@Kirsten_Tanis1 It’s both sides. Did it being torn cause her crash? Who knows. If it wasn’t torn would the same thing have happened? Who knows. It certainly wasn’t an advantage for her being ACL deficient. She’s a competitor and she knew the risks. Let’s all just hope she is ok.

It amazes me the amount of people on this app that think Vonn’s torn ACL caused her to crash. It did not. It was her right pole, clipping the gate. Which caused her ARM to be out of position, twisting her torso mid air, she became unbalanced and that led to the crash. Incredibly bad luck as she was fully going for it on her run. Just cut it a few centimeters too close on that gate and failed. 1. This particular type of crash wasn’t predictable. (Although it is eerie that she was wearing number 13 on her bib.) 2. It wasn’t selfish of her to race. She earned the spot, she completed two training runs and was 3rd overall yesterday with a real chance to medal. 3. And it was not unusual. Crashes happen in Alpine skiing. Every Olympics. Every race on the World Cup circuit. It’s part of the nature of the sport. Again, the cause had nothing to do with her ACL. By the way, one of the first skiers in yesterday’s men’s downhill also competed with a torn ACL. Didn’t win but made it down the mountain. Only difference was his wasn’t as recent or newsworthy of an injury. Part of what made her a champion in so many races was her aggressiveness. It didn’t work out today. That’s it. Why people are vilifying her I will never understand.
Matt Norlander@MattNorlander

The AP's Jacquelyn Martin has the photo that shows the split-second before Lindsey Vonn's crash: her right ski pole clips the gate at the crest of the jump, which flung her off balance and induced the crash.

@TheoKapa67 @kcrehabguy Top of mind is similar at one year. Long term favors recon. Most end up crossing over to surgical groups. Also would say IME a significant amount who do non op don’t return to the same sports at same level.

Lol now we're seeing "do you even need an ACL?" Good grief, pump the brakes. Does everyone? No. Stabilize over time? Could. Do most that play Level I sports? Yes. Do we know who can cope/adapt? Not really. Should we use an Olympic skier to broad brush everyone? Absolutely not.

Miami was down until they weren’t. Michigan was down until they weren’t. Indiana didn’t really even have a football program until they did. No one can tell me we can’t get @HuskerFootball back. These people behind me deserve to see us bring Husker football back. Just keep working #GBR

At the risk of being controversial, interesting new study out in AJSM. To our physical therapy colleagues, do you think neuromuscular activation is different in our adolescent female patients after ACL reconstruction? If so, why?

@HuskersMN @steven_sipple The NCAA we have now doesn’t give many 2-3 years to figure it out. They need to win next year. I’ll take proven talent over hoping a guy gets there. More talent = more competition = everyone gets better.

@MikelSevere He’s scrubbed Nebraska from his Instagram. I think this is a bridge that’s he burned that he will end up regretting at some point, as many do while they are still a kid. His father may have perpetuated this as well. 🤷🏻

@bjshively @mountainwesttax If you can (commute, location, etc) would recommend north to get more bang for your buck. Erie, Thorton, Louisville. You can find 3,000 sqft for less than 700k pretty regularly. That area will only get more attractive long term.

My wife and I are watching the market (planning to move to Denver in a few months), and we keep seeing this. Listed for $2.3m. Dropped to $2.1m. Eventually disappears and goes up for rent for $5k-7k/mo. Assume people trying to hold onto properties until they recover and sell in a few years?

@HuskersMN @HuskerNMichigan @kevinsjuts @1011_News The biggest difference is that team played its best ball on a night in November. Rhules teams NEED to figure out how to play better late in the season. That Iowa win was great but in the grand scheme a fluke (they gave up 10 in the 4th and Iowas offense was Iowa under BF)

Passionate comments from Matt Rhule as Nebraska prepares for the Las Vegas Bowl following a 7-5 regular season: "We're building. The program was dead for ten years. We went to back-to-back bowl games... We are moving forward. Its just not as fast as Indiana did it." @1011_News

@HuskersMN I’m not convinced they have that much faith in TJ. Your argument hinges on MR seeing TJ as being too valuable to lose. I think he realizes he needs to win sooner than later. Do they have any faith in Marco to be the back up? With Trae coming they might go in on a 1 year guy.

The inability of Nebraska fans to think rationally or logically never ceases to me amaze me. Right after the USC game, I laid out all the reasons why both sides should part ways (Dylan & Rhule). All of them came true including learning on Monday from Gary Sharp that this process actually started back…you guessed it, after USC. What “big name” QB do you think Neb is going to get? What “big name” QB do you think actually wants to come to Nebraska? You can’t answer either of those questions. What transfer QB is going to want to come in and compete with Lateef? Are you OK if Lateef decides to leave because he doesn’t want to compete with said transfer QB? Are you aware that other teams want Lateef? (Who is an Elite 11 QB who started games in the BIG10 and performed well) So given that no “big name” QBs are coming to Nebraska, what QBs can you bring that won’t prompt Lateef to leave and you can have the two compete with the loser being your backup for ‘26? Zane Flores Lastly has there ever been QBs who didn’t light the world on fire at their first stop and played well at their new school? Yes tons, including a guy you’ve heard of from Nebraska…Scott Frost. Think rationally people. Then
Black41FlashReverse@Black41Reverse

@HuskersMN Jesus Nebraska media has to stop with this instate bullshit.🤦‍♂️ Go buy actual talent. Zane couldn’t win the starting job at Okie State, that alone says it all after they fired their long time Legacy Head Coach. Ravi also said Dominic Raiola was a good OL Coach. 🤮
