I don't believe that humans will ever live on the Moon or Mars.
Any place on Earth, even Antarctica, is far better than living with no atmosphere, or an atmosphere that we can't breathe.
I also don't believe that humans will ever travel interstellar distances or colonize planets in other star systems.
And I don't believe we should.
Interstellar distances are too great, the journeys would take too long, and any planet that would support human life will already have life of its own and should be left alone.
What if extraterrestrials had decided to colonize Earth millions of years ago?
Thank God they didn't, or we would not be here.
Earth is our only home.
We must preserve it, and not fantasize about escape.
We must not become refugees without a home.

Whenever you have somebody who goes to the International Space Station for three months or six months, they come back and they are totally jacked up because, literally, the cells in their body are starting to discombobulate in response to a low-gravity environment. We have to figure out a solution to that problem. That, to me, is sort of the most interesting part of space travel, of going to Mars or setting up a colony on another planet. If you set up a colony on Mars, and it takes you two years to get there and two years to get back, in that time, you've gone from a functioning, healthy adult to dead if you're in space for four years. That part of space travel is very fascinating to me, and I don't know that I've heard any satisfactory solution to it yet."

@Slayemin @davidpattersonx There is no "saving Earth" unless we achieve escape velocity, climb to AT LEAST a Kardashev type 2 civilization to be able to move/relocate the Earth; ideally a type 3 to be able to create an artificial/stable sun to move Earth into orbit of to preserve it for >100B years.

@Slayemin @davidpattersonx Life will not "ultimately be fine" Life on Earth is already the equivalent of a 75 year old (because life on Earth doesn't have 3 Billion years, it has less than 1B before the sun expands/heats up enough to boil our oceans and strip the atmosphere.
