@vzmercogliano If you had any respect you would ask the coach if miller is a liability - and why they insist on playing his bum ass

#NYR just failed to produce a shot on a toothless PP and have only four total SOG with 3:47 to play in the second period.

Fishkill, NY, this morning. Outside of California I have never seen gas at more than $5 a gallon, much less $6. We are on the fast train to a recession. And the old man does not even seem to know, much less care

It's incredible how much JT Miller reflects late-career Chris Drury. Effectively a fourth-line center making first-line money while routinely injured. #NYR

Been at ESPN a long time - this one was an all timer. Before social media, it was as viral as a story can be. I watched it on a tape in the news room. I couldn’t stop watching his teammates.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

NHL rules used in World Cup of Hockey: so it will NOT be 3 on 3 OT in championship game. Normal Stanley Cup playoffs OT rules so 5 on 5 OT in championship game.

BREAKING Hamas has issued a new statement on the US-Israel war against Iran and the Islamic Republic. Hamas urges the Islamic Republic of Iran not to target neighboring countries. It strongly condemns what it calls American-Zionist aggression against Iran, arguing that it violates international law and threatens regional and global peace. Hamas says the interests of the Islamic world and the region require ending the war, and it calls on countries and international organizations to work immediately to stop it. The group praises diplomatic efforts by various countries to prevent the conflict and promote dialogue and diplomacy. Hamas affirms what it describes as Iran’s right to respond to the attack by all available means under international norms. At the same time, it urges Iran not to target neighboring countries and calls on regional states to cooperate to stop the war and preserve relations among them.

Happening Now: Muslims and white liberals are parading in NYC wearing ayatollah turbans and carrying Iranian regime flags while chanting “we support Hezbollah.” When someone tells you they’re “anti-war,” what they mean is that they support the terrorists.

I want to correct something I said last night. The bombs thrown in New York City over the weekend by ISIS inspired attackers was thrown into a crowd of anti-Muslim protestors and not specifically targeted at Mayor Mamdani. That wording was inaccurate and I didn’t catch it ahead of time. I apologize for the error.

Chris Drury on not trading Vincent Trocheck: "I'm not going to go through player by player. What I will tell you is Vincent Trocheck is a great player. ... We're going to make deals we think make sense." Said they weren't going to make a trade to say they made a trade.
