Brandon Sanderson explains why Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi is so bad: "The bad stuff in [The Last Jedi] is so bad. The fact that it is a slow paced chase through space in a world where people have FTL travel. Like, why are the enemy slowly chasing this convoy. Why? This isn't a plot hole. I sat in the theater. I'm like, 'Warp ahead of them.' ... 'Lightspeed. Lightspeed ahead of them.' ... I'm okay with the dropping bombs even though it's dumb and makes you be like, 'Wait. What?' What else makes this movie so bad?

@jam091631272511 @RoxyTall Petunia's skinny too and obviously not good. On my latest trip through the books (full-cast audiobooks), the emphasis on heavier characters' weight is really unfortunate but there is no consistency among characters in terms of weight absolutely correlating to goodness.

@ThePosieParker @jk_rowling @audible_com It's poor casting. Not because the person is trans, but because this actor comes nowhere close to producing a voice which reads as female. In an audio-only medium, it's critical that the timbre of the voice communicated the character instantly.

Audible have ruined Harry Potter @jk_rowling with a man playing Madame Pomfroy. Can’t help thinking @audible_com did it as a crappy statement. Why? It’s a man, with a man’s voice. Such a shame as the narrator is sublime and Hugh Laurie is a brilliant Dumbledore.
