@ThabisoGoba2 @Princes94971069 Yhooo! Reading the comments below is so depressing. White people must be laughing at us. The level of hatred amongst Africans on this app must be studied at thesis level. Sometimes I think black people were designed to suffer. You'll never whites body shame each other like this😭

It’s absolutely amazing observing South Africans trying to explain to western journalists how they can differentiate between an African immigrant and a local; just by simply looking at them.

@kasujja Im no economist but i have qns. Are Net worth and GDP computed in the same way? Therefore can they be equated? If not can a comparison so simple be easily drawn? Not that such metrics are not daunting. But before i compare my value or sense of self worth to such, I do wonder 🤔

Combined wealth is about 3.3T Africa’s GDP according to 2025 IMF numbers is 2.8T. Elon Musk alone, therefore, holds around 25% of the GDP of a continent of 54 countries and 1.4B people. Just some quick useless Sunday information.

I remember when I first became a professor, I was excited to see what actually took place in a faculty meeting. About 10 minutes into the first one I attended, I realized it was all bullshit - people bloviating about irrelevant things, talking over each other, and saying things just to sound smart. In later years it became completely performative. The nastiest people behind closed doors would go on about how much they love students and minorities. It was pure narcissism - people trying to look good in front of others and caring more about promoting themselves than anything else.
The Independent with Scott Atlas@ScottAtlas_IT

Yep. Comical if people could see it at faculty meetings, with their own eyes.

@Emma506131772 @NativeLandgrab @SpireJim Bold of you to assume that is my real name. If I were to follow the same logic then you would the word Catholic would constitute one of your names. 🤔 Also, plz just address the matter. Whether I'm indoctrinated or not is of no relevance here. But whether YOU are is.

One of the telling things about our society at our functions is how we behave around food: 1. People loading more food on their plates than they can finish, and without feeling ashamed of the heaps on their plates 2. The fact that people have to be served, because they don’t know how to share limited resources 3. When given a chance for self service, people serving themselves without any regard to those behind them that might not get. Five pieces of chicken are left in the dish, and someone serves himself three of them (with 20 people behind him) 4. People eating more than they need, just because there is free food 5. People acting impatient as if they would die if they took 10 more minutes before their turn to serve (okulookalooka/ okululunkana) 6. Serving the second time (double) before others get anything, and pretending not to have eaten at all 7. Packing food to take home when some people present haven’t got 8. Catering service providers hiding food. While these habits might seem isolated and only related to food, they ALL vividly manifest themselves when we are in charge of any resources that have to be shared. Think about it. Our biggest problems as a country are around GREED, SELFISHNESS, DISHONESTY, and lack of a sense of SHAME

Uganda’s power supply remains stable and secure. However, to address emerging governance and accountability issues at Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited @UEDCLTD and strengthen oversight, the Government of Uganda @GovUganda and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development @MEMD_Uganda have undertaken targeted measures to safeguard service delivery and operational efficiency. These actions, led by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, are part of routine governance to reinforce accountability and institutional performance. I assure all Ugandans that electricity distribution services will continue uninterrupted during this transition.

@NankabirwaRS @UEDCLTD @GovUganda I need them to improve. They are disrupted every evening. We need improvement! Is 240volts too much to ask!? My are gets 140 to 170 volts. We've lost countless household electronics. Endure untold suffering. Have blackouts every evening! We need more than "continue". Plz improve!

@KakandeAlex Yo latter statement leans in2 a universal bigotry i have observed. I think we are all bigoted at baseline. Each of us has a hidden insecurity (some pple have multiple) that we project onto others 2 feel better abt our shortcomings, we point out the 1thing we hav the other doesn't

She has worked for the Bank of Uganda for over 15 years as an Economist. I think now leading a department. You think she is there because she is a woman ? No. I think we sometimes envy those we see as better than us so we always look for a moment to project it out negatively.

The unforgiving person is the closest thing to a “good person,” even more so than the forgiving or empathetic person. A forgiving person is capable of forgiveness because he finds it easy to understand the behavior of those who offend him. This understanding is a function of possessing the capacity to act in a similar manner as those who offend him. He too is capable of hurting someone, and he knows it. However, a man who is incapable of forgiving people is equally repelled by offending them. He has a rigid but consistent ethical stance: he will not hurt, and he will not forgive when he is hurt. His lack of agency to be cruel to people mandates his lack of understanding for cruel character and thus makes him unforgiving of it. He will not forgive you for doing unto him what he cannot do to you. Right there is a good person.
