Some ...interesting provisions of the "Dignity Act" (the one that grants amnesty that they're trying to pass): * Prohibits immigration enforcement actions at sensitive locations (schools, hospitals, places of worship, courts) without prior approval or exigent circumstances * Authorizes loan forgiveness (75%) for law school graduates providing legal services at Humanitarian Campuses for 4 years * Grants conditional permanent resident status (10-year) to Dreamers/DACA recipients who entered the U.S. at age 18 or younger and have been continuously present since January 1, 2021, passed a background check, and completed high school * Allows Dreamers to remove the conditional basis (achieve full LPR/Green Card status) by earning a college degree, serving 3+ years in the military, or being employed for 4+ years * Allows eventual U.S. citizenship eligibility once conditional status is lifted * Creates a new "Family Purposes" 90-day visitor visa for relatives attending weddings, funerals, birthdays, or family reunions * Raises the per-country green card cap from 7% to 15% of annual employment-based and family preference visas * Converts F-1 student visas to dual-intent visas, removing the requirement that international students prove intent to return home * Creates a presumption of O-visa eligibility for individuals who earned a doctoral degree in STEM or medicine Don't get me wrong: There's some really good provisions in this bill. But the bill, as written, is a massive amnesty program and will allow even MORE illegals into the country. This bill opens the floodgates. It doesn't close them.

Even if it wasn't, there was nothing stopping the trucker from going into the dirt lot to the right. Doing so would have cleared the trailer from the tracks and not impacted the pickup. 1 of 2

It seems some conservatives don’t know how to win. The border is effectively sealed—an insanely successful operation and overnight success. Our laws are being enforced. And some people think it’s time for amnesty? Toss a landmark achievement and all progress in the trash? You get what you incentivize in life. Amnesty incentivizes violations of our immigration laws.

@Math_files It's unreasonable to round down from 103 to get 100, but round up from 28 to get 30. For an estimate, I would round to the nearest 5, not 10, and end up with 75 as the estimate and the correct answer.

The illegal immigration issue is not difficult or complex or nuanced. If they came here illegally, they need to leave. That's it. End of story. "But what if they've been here for 10 years???" They need to leave. "But what if they haven't committed any other crimes???" Leave. "But what if they have a family???" Leave. This isn't hard at all. We have laws in this country. You broke the law. You don't belong here. Nothing personal. But get the hell out. It should not be hard for elected Republicans to articulate this point. If they do have trouble articulating it -- if they take any position on illegal immigration except for this -- they can also go. That's not complicated either.
