@BaseUnstitched Signing both wood and CJ will cost at a minimum billion dollars. That's a lot for any team not the dodgers.

I mean this when I say: I don’t think you trade James Wood for an entire orgs top 30 Superstars are so hard to find and develop - The Nats have one, you have to find a way to at least chip into his free agent years, even if you only guarantee yourself 3-4 extra years after arb

@BritishOrioles The dude who's stolen a whopping ONE base this season has thoughts. My dead grandma could still two. Don't believe me? See Naaylor -- you could time his large posterior with a sundial

Sen. Alsobrooks slams Russ Vought: "I have to tell you, I couldn't wait to get here on behalf of the 160,000 federal employees in my state. The actions taken toward our federal employees has been evil, absolutely evil, and it is the most galling aspect of what I regard as shameful tenure, at the OMB as director, has been your outright animosity and blatant hostility toward our federal workers.”

@sportz_nutt51 Not trying to be obnoxious, but how did babying a young flamethrower to avoid catastrophic injury work out for every single nuclear armed pitcher this century? I'll give you a hint -- NEVER. NOT ONCE. ZERO. The arm's loaded with a finite number of bullets anyway. Ride the peak.

Things if @MLB got rid of would make it better instantly, in no particular order: 1. Rob Manfred 2. Stat heads running teams instead of baseball people 3. Ghost runners on 2nd base 4. iPads in the dugout 5. Announcers giving exit velo and launch angle

@markasaxon Only real reason to sell - Noot for example - would be to add prospect depth (or maybe bullpen?) and create a job for Baez for the last couple of months. But totally agree that there is no urgency to move people just to move people.

15 MLB teams currently have TBD listed as their SP for tomorrow's games. What the hell? There are that many teams who don't know what their rotation plans for the weekend are a day before coming back from a 4-day layoff? I get some teams have stuff to weigh but half the league?

Please explain to me how the same senators who voted for the Epstein Transparency Acf would now vote to confirm the man who’s leading the continuing coverup of the Epstein files.

You can take Félix out of the picture. I don’t think he’ll ever be the same pitcher after the injury. The Orioles should be buying and selling at the deadline. We’re only two games out of the Wild Card—not saying we’re legitimate contenders, but you have to prepare for both the present and the future. Move expiring assets, add controllable talent that can help now and beyond, and keep building for next season. Someone like Josh Hader would completely change the back end of this bullpen.

Josh Hader would be a perfect fit for the Orioles. He’s under contract with the Astros through 2028, so acquiring him wouldn’t come cheap. The bigger question is: would Houston even consider moving him? If they do, the Orioles should absolutely pick up the phone. Who would you be willing to trade to bring him to Baltimore? Fun fact: Hader was originally drafted by the Orioles in the 19th round of the 2012 MLB Draft before being traded to Houston in the Bud Norris deal. #Birdland

Buster Posey on why they drafted RHP Jackson Flora: “I think the big thing with Jackson for us, is that we felt strongly that this was the best possible arm in the draft. Not only that, but a big, tall, lanky, athletic guy who seems to be on the uprise as well. It’s a guy who you look at what he did in college in his freshman, sophomore, junior year and got better and better. Not that you take a guy because of this as well, but I think it’s a bonus when you look at his body and this is still kind of new world for me, but from listening to scouts speak on the projectability, he just looks like a guy who will continue to get better and better. And by all accounts, talking to him a handful of times now, he’s more than willing to put in the work to do that.” via: @knbrmurph | @MarkusBoucher

One of my favorite types of rolling charts: JJ Wetherholt took a minute to come online, but his adjustments show he’s here to stay. The decision value and contact ability are exceptional, and, as long as the power comes in waves, he’s going to be very very valuable

Ivan Herrera is having an interesting year — the OBP has been exceptional but we’re seeing a significant power outage at the same time. Potentially an injury? The decisions and contact ability haven’t wavered, but the upper echelon batted ball quality is no longer there

@atrupar Somehow, somewhere, there's a klan influencer who thinks this village idiot is some font of wisdom. Meanwhile, the klan party calls him Senator. And nobody thinks there's anything wrong with that. Defund klan states.
