So many people out there think the USA team lost to a bunch of native Italians last night. Those guys are almost all American pro players. Many of them big-league players. A bad loss, yes. But they didn't lose to a bunch of converted soccer players.

This whole idea that the Oregon taxpayers should fund the renovation and indefinitely pay for the maintenance of the MODA Center (as an owner interest party) reeks of corruption. One of the partners who purchased the Blazers is the husband of the Oregon Health Authority director. You know, the one Tina Kotek appointed and approved of her working in California. This is a backroom deal with Tina Kotek getting something in return. Michael Irvin on the Super Bowl played in Santa Clara: “This was a horrible Super Bowl. They should never ever, ever, ever bring the Super Bowl back to San Francisco. In all the years of going to a Super Bowl, this was the worst. It was blah in the city. It just wasn’t jumping. The people, blah. The buildings out here looked blah. When you go into an event it was blah. I’m thinking there should be so much money out here because the tech is out here, but it all looked so blah… I couldn’t wait until this moment came to tell you DAMN! I rewatched Prince’s iconic Super Bowl halftime show from 2007, and one difference that jumped out at me—other than the massive disparity in talent —was that Prince was performing for a live audience rather than for the cameras. Bad Bunny’s performance might as well have been prerecorded. The audience in the stands had a subpar experience. The magic that comes from a live show was missing.

@JonnyRoot_ You tell on yourself with #4. Women certainly aren’t cornering the market on poorly worded questions in the heat of the moment. Listen to post game press conferences where, after things cool down, there are lots of weak questions. Networks have prioritized women on the field.

A lot of people are saying Justin Herbert was “rude” to ESPN’s Laura Rutledge for not wanting to do this postgame interview after the Chargers OT win vs Philly My thoughts: 1. He did come across a little rude, but acted like a professional after he reluctantly agreed to be interviewed. 2. Laura was persistent and just tried to do her job. 3. Herbert deserves some grace. He’s is coming off of a big win, beat up after 7 sacks and just had hand surgery. He just wants a few seconds to celebrate with his team. 4. Laura, and many of these female reporters, need to ask better questions. “What was it like” questions are so tiresome… 5. As far as I’m aware, and based on my own experience interviewing athletes during/after games, a broadcast team/reporter gives the team’s PR personnel a head’s up who they want to interview and that player is, at least, aware of a potential interview, so Herbert wouldn’t be surprised. 6. Stop acting like this is an “attack on women”. That’s completely irrational & unfounded. 7. Herbert has consistently been one of the most polite athletes with media in the league. It wasn’t a great look, but trying to crucify him over this is silly.
