Great news! The FDA updated testosterone product labels today. The TRAVERSE trial found no increased CV risk, so the boxed warning is planned to be removed! However, a blood pressure warning has been added after ABPM studies. Use remains limited to men with medical conditions causing low T.

Finally, the long-awaited TRAVERSE Prostate Safety Study has just been released. During 14,304 person-years of follow-up on 5204 men (aged 45-80 years) with hypogonadism in this randomized clinical trial, incidences of high-grade or any prostate cancer, acute urinary retention, invasive surgical procedures, and new pharmacologic BPH treatments were low and did not differ significantly between the testosterone and placebo-treated groups.
