@lorenagerman on bluesky 💗
Kids need social justice language so they can name the issues they are seeing and experiencing. This will help them advocate. They need access to words and explicit understanding of their definitions. This is education for the 'real world.'

@Zohra3Nabi My son and I both read your book this summer and we LOVED it. I can’t wait to share the Kingdom Over The Sea with my 5th graders!

At King’s Cross, everyone drinking their morning coffee, not a single person using a reusable cup. 99% of plastics are made from fossil fuels & most compostable packaging won’t be composted by industry. If we all changed this small habit it would make a huge difference. 🙏🌎💚

@KateRobinson89 So hard. I just take some private moments to sit in the grief and let it be my expression of love. I hope that in the grief today that the memories and love bring you some comfort.

Today is my dad’s second anniversary, I would love to know: those of you who have lost loved ones, what are some religious, cultural, or other ways that you mark their anniversary? How do you remember, or celebrate them on days like today? ❤️

When adults don’t understand the complexity of the nature of gender, sex and sexual orientation, young people must navigate challenging situations by themselves. This LFJ resource can help facilitate awareness. learningforjustice.org/magazine/summe…

Why subject do you teach, and what would you say is the “most” essential part of your classroom?

Why are pediatric hospitals always full these days? Even in the summer? Why are kids sicker than ever before? Looks like the answer is that covid is causing lots of serious new health issues in kids. And still no plans for a safe September. Parents should be rioting.

🚨POST-COVID & Kids🚨 New @CDCgov report showing quite clearly that children are at significantly more risk for life-threatening diagnoses after COVID infection. Very convincing evidence that prevention of COVID-19 in children is very important to reduce childhood mortality. /1

All the feels as our little family gets ready to make our move to Vietnam tomorrow! So grateful for our quiet and chill summer in Thailand. Even if it was off my feet more than expected.
