Beach clean day 1 and day 2. The best part was when another family came out and joined ours. We estimate more than 15 shoes, 20 toothbrushes and countless plastics of all kinds #actionsmatter

If we want to make diversity normal then we need to toss out the ‘multicultural books’ basket. Diversity belongs in every genre and every basket and in all of our play provocations. #WorkinProgress #seoulofaleader #weneeddiversebooks

I often feel that the West perceives Asians as a homogeneous group. Here’s a compilation of PicBks that celebrates our diversity with a South/S-East Asian focus categorised into topics. Hope this helps Ts to pick the right book for their students. bit.ly/PicBookSEA

@Montessori_LBU By supplying children with names for their emotions they build their emotional intelligence. Learning the difference between the feelings of anger and frustration for example. Repeating back to them their feelings… “You’re feeling frustrated because…” shows you are listening.

We’re not secondaries , people need to stop trying to make primaries like mini-secondaries. We need to embrace what’s great about primary education and shout about it. Our job isn’t just to prepare children for the next step it’s way more important than that.

Deeply ingrained heteronormativity makes it completely non-sexual to talk/read with kids about mom+dad, but somehow hyper-sexual to talk/read about mom+mom or dad+dad. Kids will see LGBTQ+ people as normal unless they are taught/conditioned (by adults) to see them otherwise.

A1) Some people think talking about sexuality / gender = talking about sex 👀 Straight people think queer folx are hypersexual and we only talk about sex and that’s also just not true either. #queer_educhat
