In Leadership, IQ means little if you lack EQ and especially if you lack InterRelational intelligence. It is the ability to understand, connect with, and effectively communicate with staff, students, parents, and community. It involves active listening, conflict resolution, building relationships, and fostering collaboration. #InterRelationalLeadership

On this, the Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember all those in Canada and worldwide who have lost their lives because of hate and anti-trans acts of violence. It is a horrific pain to see this ignorance and discrimination continuing to happen. #TDOR #onpoli

So, I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need: 1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks. 2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of. 3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles. 4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops. 5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of. 6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift. 7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care. 8. Sugar and flour are treats. 9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores. 10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some. 11. They rarely get fresh meat. 12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch. 13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef. 14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread. 15. Butter or margarine is nice too. 16. Eggs are a real commodity. 17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake. 18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated. 19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that. 20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing. In all the years I have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!

REMINDER: Ontario spent 21.5 billion less on #healthcare under Ford. When you can’t find a doctor, wait in emergency for hours, have your necessary surgery postponed - remember it’s not the staff it’s the Premier

Wab Kinew’s historic win in Manitoba suggests the lighting of the Anishinaabe’s eighth fire. What lies ahead is immense work and he carries 150+ years of colonization with him. But he also carries something greater, Anishinaabe strength. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 theglobeandmail.com/opinion/articl…

To support #onted educators in their learning and professional instructional practices, ETFO has developed resources that focus inclusively on First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) worldviews and perspectives. There are great learning tools at etfofnmi.ca/?page_id=1728 #onpoli

This is #TruthandReconciliation week and we will make time to honour survivors by teaching, sharing truths and continuing to do our own individual learning about the horrific past so we may never allow it to be repeated again. #onted #onpoli

"A strong strike vote will help #ETFO communicate to the Ford government that they must get serious about bargaining," said @ETFOpresident. "While we are now working with a conciliator to help us explore all possible options in reaching agreements that are fair for ETFO members, central strike votes are another tool we can use to help us achieve the best working conditions and learning conditions possible." #onted #onpoli windsornewstoday.ca/windsor/news/2…

A must-read about Ford’s 2018 mandate letters that demanded savings in the public service. It mandated reviews, program re-design and to make cuts. We have to wonder, if this was the demand in the first term, what turmoil is Ford pushing now?! #onpoli globalnews.ca/news/9937609/e…
