This is a picture of my dad, Clay Matthews Jr, my grandpa, Clay Sr (rest in Heavenly peace) & my uncle, Bruce Matthews, from an old @SInow magazine. 42 seasons between these 3 ironmen. Dad & Bruce have the records for most games played by an LB & OL(respectively) in NFL History

When a girl says, "5 mins", think about it like there are five minutes left in the 4th quarter and both teams have all their timeouts.

@NFLHuddleUp @ProFootballHOF @JennMatthews57 @Browns @NFL Jennifer. I met your father probably 40 years ago when he was playing in Cleveland. I worked at a gas station that he bought his car in to be worked on. He was one of the nicest players that came into that station. Clay always had time to talk and was always nice. Great guy.

To the @ProFootballHOF Selection Committee: Clay Matthews Jr. embodied sustained excellence and leadership over 19 seasons with the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons. His career was a model of consistency, toughness, and football intelligence — the traits that define true Hall of Famers. For nearly two decades, Matthews was the heart of every defense he anchored. With Cleveland, he led units that reached three AFC Championship Games, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors along the way. His play set the standard for preparation, discipline, and versatility — equally effective rushing the passer, stopping the run, or dropping into coverage. Matthews’ greatness wasn’t built on a single dominant season, but on year after year of high-level performance. His remarkable longevity wasn’t about hanging on — it was about producing, mentoring, and leading. Even in his late 30s with Atlanta, he remained a starter and a stabilizing presence on defense. Few linebackers in NFL history have combined his durability, adaptability, and football intellect. He bridged eras — from Terry Bradshaw to Steve McNair — and did so with an unwavering commitment to excellence. His influence extended beyond statistics; it was felt in locker rooms, game plans, and among generations of players who modeled their approach after his. Clay Matthews Jr. was the consummate professional — a player who elevated his teams, defined an era of Browns football, and left an enduring mark on the game. It’s time to honor that legacy. Clay Matthews Jr. belongs in Canton.

@NFLHuddleUp @ProFootballHOF @JennMatthews57 @Browns @NFL Clay should be in HOF. Played the second longest at LB than any other player in NFL!! Not to mention he was very reliable and was rarely hurt. I think the years he spent in Cleveland he broke his ankle that may have been his only injury that kept him off the field. Put Clay in !

We all want a better world. More kindness. More understanding. More respect. But it doesn’t begin somewhere else...it begins with us. If you want more kindness in the world, start by giving it. Small actions create powerful ripple effects. #findawayeveryday #morekindness #smallactions

There are no words. May his wife & son feel God’s presence surrounding them & carrying them through these unimaginably heartbreaking days. The sacrifices of our service men & women, as well as their families, never cease to amaze me. I am forever grateful for their selflessness

America lost a hero. Capt. Seth Koval — an Ohio Air National Guard pilot with 19 years of service was killed in a refueling accident in Iraq. He leaves behind a 2-year-old son and family who now carry his legacy. Let’s take care of his family. gofundme.com/f/honoring-cap…
