Did you know that one of the largest resident ground rent investors - ARC Time - has paid no Corporation Tax since 2014 despite owning UK freeholds worth £180 million (at 31 March 2023)?
Every pound not paid in tax by ARC Time is an extra burden on hard-working UK taxpayers.

@richard_jm Take the loss. It's painful, but the costs will just keep adding up otherwise. I sold well below value to a cash buyer just to get rid - development now has serious fire risks discovered, waking watches, remediation, nobody can sell. You never know what's around the corner.

Interesting that Residential Freehold Association use arguments like those used against reforming private renting e.g. it will damage freeholder’s business. If a business relies on extracting rent from another party for an inadequate service, it’s not a functional business model

It’s astonishing that if you’re <30, went to uni, have 2 kids and are earning £50k per year, getting a 10% pay rise will only leave you £34 a month better off. No wonder there’s a generation of “quiet quitters” — why on earth would ppl in that position push themselves at work?

@dannybster Totally agree. Three rounds of layoffs in a year ain’t a good look. Shouldn’t they be looking at CEO’s track record?
And yet the markets eat it up… Spotify knew how shitty of them it looks to lay people off right before Christmas, so PR team distracted everyone with Wrapped.
