Some of the most exciting work I have had the privilege to be involved in and one of my favorite collaborations. Thanks to all the participants who made this possible. @DeptVetAffairs @VAResearch #MVP

Today in @NatureGenetics, we report the discovery of a common CD36 variant specific to individuals of African ancestry that increases risk of DCM, and may help explain the ~2x higher rate of DCM/heart failure in this population nature.com/articles/s4158…

The Million Veteran Program is the @DeptVetAffairs' gift that keeps on giving...critical clues to the etiology and treatment of coronary disease, the #1 cause of death worldwide. Thank you U.S. Veterans and program leadership for making this possible. Let's keep it going!

@pp0196 @mgeorgakis1 @ScienceMagazine If you navigate to phs002453, click on the "Analyses" tab, there is a link at the top to "dbGaP public ftp site". You can get all files directly from there without an application.

@JennyGenetics @mgeorgakis1 @ScienceMagazine As far as i can, one needs to make a request to dbGaP to get the full summary stats. So it is not full public access unless as ot is for GWAS catalog one can just do wget/tabix url anf get the stats

So excited to finally be able to share this work broadly. It was an incredible team to work with and I can't wait to see what the global research community produces from this data.
