NEW President Zelensky refuses to stop hammering the Russian oil industry: "Ukraine received signals from some partners to reduce our retaliatory strikes on the Russian oil sector" "Only if Russia is ready to stop striking at Ukrainian energy, we will pause strikes on their energy infrastructure." Until then, the attacks will continue.

@NatalkaKyiv The simple answer to all his questions is that Putin and friends don’t want those drones being focused on Moscow. They’re perfectly fine with the rest of Russia burning to the ground as long as everything stays normal there.

Another Russian Z-patriot is starting to ask uncomfortable questions of his government. Pavel Kukhmirov is a Russian blogger and author who fought in Donbas in 2014–2016 to bring “Russkiy Mir” to Ukraine. This is what he writes: “It may be that there is a point in not explaining anything to one’s own country at war. There may even be some, undoubtedly important, state reason for not speaking to it at all. If so, then please accept my deepest apologies, most respected “statesmen,” but after the strike and the disabling of two ports in the Leningrad region (located on the opposite end of the country from the former Ukrainian SSR), I personally, as a citizen and taxpayer, have a number of questions which, with your permission, I will voice. 1. Why have the ports of Ust-Luga and Primorsk (which were struck once) ceased operations, while the port of Odesa (which has allegedly been under attack for several years) is functioning and, overall, seems to be doing quite well? 2. Why, on the fifth year of the war, are the government buildings in Kyiv and other administrative and symbolic objects of the Ukrainian regime still standing? 3. Why are all representatives of the Ukrainian regime without exception still alive and seemingly in good condition (especially in light of the real terror against our generals in Moscow, public figures, and pro-Russian activists in the new regions)? 4. Why, after many months of methodical and widely publicized strikes on the enemy’s energy infrastructure, does it still exist and show no obvious signs of disappearing? Where and how, in that case, were these strikes actually carried out? 5. Why is the general who received the Hero of the Russian Federation Star for the liberation of Kupyansk and reported this to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief still wearing it, still in the same rank insignia, and generally free (considering what that entire story ultimately turned out to be and how it ended)? There are many more questions. But these are the minimal and most pressing ones, for which I, as a citizen and taxpayer, would like answers. Thank you in advance for them. P.S. And in this photo are the ports of Odesa and Ust-Luga. Just don’t confuse which is which.” The text was published on the “RIA Katyusha” TG Channel

@tytanic1984 @edfischman @hissgoescobra The E-3 isn’t retiring for space-based assets, it’s retiring because the vast majority of them are over 40 years old and they simply can’t get parts anymore. They might move some of the mission-set to it but I’m highly skeptical Congress doesn’t just force the E-7 upon them.

To be clear, the notion that the AWACS mission can be performed by satellites is a bad one. Once space is weaponized, it’ll come back to bite us. We should fund the E-7s fully and not just a couple prototypes. airandspaceforces.com/future-usaf-ne…

@edfischman @hissgoescobra It’s not a matter of vulnerability but rather, can they even do the mission being asked of them? The general consensus is that they cannot & to get to where they might, it’d be prohibitively expensive in Congress.

This morning, drones have strayed into Finnish territory. One of the drones has been confirmed to be Ukrainian in origin. I want to emphasize that there is no military threat to Finland. Our authorities reacted to the situation immediately. I thank the authorities for their efficient action. The investigation of the incident continues. We are monitoring the situation closely. The authorities maintain readiness to react to future incidents. Finland stands ready to monitor and protect its territory.

No, losing an aircraft is not always serious. Anyone who gives a flying fuck about losing an MQ-9 needs to get their head checked, and crashing an F-16 is only moderately embarrassing. Losing an E-3 is ‘deadly serious’ — that’s like USAF getting one of the fingers it needs to control its flying death machines chopped off.
🐺@LeighWolf

Losing an aircraft is always serious, but I wonder how animated these X account would be if they knew the U.S. loses ~25 aircraft a year in training accidents. Context matters. The implication that Iran is inflicting catastrophic losses on the U.S. is laughable. It also undercuts the argument that “they’re lying” when you share several 4k photos of an incident less than 24 hours old in the exact same post. If the military is playing hide-the-ball, they’re doing a terrible job.

new image from the Prince Sultan USA airbase in Saudi Arabia after Iranian strike. The airbase is 700 kilometers away from Iran This plane is a US Air Force E-3 Sentry strategic aircraft; the USA has only 16 of these. I don't understand how the USA is expecting to protect its infantry on an island or beaches of the Hormuz/Gulf if it can't protect its strategic assets located 700 hundreds kilometers away.
