@ben_bot_baldwin The model has a punt (89% WP) as better than a made field goal (88% WP)? That’s a pretty surprising result. Is 10-20 yards of field position worth three points?

@gbellseattle Did Horton get hurt on the play? Looked like he may have grabbed his knee…

1st down after the safety OC Klint Kubiak goes 3 tight ends again--but runs play-action bootleg and pass to rookie WR Tory Horton in flat. Not a vanilla #Seahawks game plan tonight for a preseason game. Jalen Milroe run package at QB with 1st O. Kubiak giving SF lots to study

If you just watched Panthers EDGE Princely Umanmielen against Georgia, you’d see a lock first rounder. Three plays, three different pass rush wins. High, high ceiling player.

DK Metcalf carted to the locker room after trying to test out his knee and being examined on the sideline. He’s officially questionable to return

@hawkblogger Those charts aren’t really comparable because Donald’s has far more athletic testing components

Is there a single player on this defense who should be written in as a for-sure starter for 2023 other than Woolen? It’s a rhetorical question but what the hell let’s make it a poll anyway.

@JetBlue Is this that movie where an airline publishes a cyber Monday promotion but will not let anyone take advantage of it?

@SeahawksForever I may be wrong but I think Damien Lewis will be back on Sunday. So that would mean Lewis at LG and either Curhan or Forsyth at RT.

Based on what we saw Sunday after the injuries I’m guessing we will see Curhan at LG and Forsythe at RT? That will be interesting, but I’d rather get a look at Haynes/LG and Curhan/RT
Dugar, Michael-Shawn@MikeDugar

Travis Homer (calf/hamstring), Jamal Adams (shoulder), Brandon Shell (shoulder) and Kyle Fuller (calf) won’t play Sunday. Jamal probably headed to IR soon. Quandre Diggs (calf) is questionable to play.

Hidden in the hills of Thousand Oaks last August, the NFL’s hottest system clashed with its best challenger. Sean McVay. Brandon Staley. They tried to break each other, as they helped build each other. The reverberations from that time are coming next: theathletic.com/2767658/2021/0…

@Stick2Sports2 @colemn76 @minakimes That’s a good question. I’m not sure exactly how that works. It might be that most of the principle is deferred since the lender is probably pretty comfortable with holding as collateral assets that can be easily liquidated.

No, I’m arguing a system that allows people to earn billions, borrow against it for nothing so that I can live like a king, and then dodge taxes when I eventually pass those billions on is unfair. Still confused?
Pumped up Mark Pope@cat_fan_45

@minakimes I honestly don’t know how smart people find this confusing. I start Amazon. It becomes worth a trillion dollars. I never sell my shares. You are arguing I should be forced to sell now to pay taxes of 300 billion as wealth tax. Fix cost basis on inheritance and problem solved

@JALbert_LoL @colemn76 @minakimes In practice, gains frequently don’t get taxed because basis “steps up” on death (26 USC §1014). When gains are deferred until death, the loan is then repaid with assets with stepped up basis. That way, no gains are ever recognized. Creates both tax deferral and tax forgiveness.

@colemn76 @JeremyEHutton @minakimes The loans have to be paid back, presumably by selling stock, realizing gains and having taxable income, right? I can see how this kicks the can down the road on tax, but the realized money does get taxed with the loan scheme?

@colemn76 @minakimes Not sure I know exactly what you mean. I think it might make sense to have the act of borrowing count as a realization event for the amount borrowed, such that you owe taxes on that just as if you’d sold the underlying property for cash.

@JeremyEHutton @minakimes Yeah, but I think you should be able to do that as long as interest is not tax deductible and cost basis never adjusts to heirs. Probably requires a forcing a death “tax out”. What do you think on the loan should happen?

@afaris1978 @minakimes @colemn76 That would be the idea! Might get a little bit complicated re: valuation, but if the lender is willing to take X collateral for Y loan, you know that the property is worth at least Y.

@JeremyEHutton @minakimes @colemn76 Okay, I kind of like that. The act of borrowing adjusts the cost basis to current FMV, with current year tax consequences for whatever the result. That sort of thing?
