This is what I keep coming back to. Pre-vaccine and effective test, trace and isolate system was all that was going to prevent a repeat of the spring. It should have been the number 1 priority all summer. I can't think of a more profound policy failure in terms of impact.

Interesting how few commuters seemed to be wearing face coverings/ masks this morning. I asked one guy why he wasn’t, he said “I thought they’d been telling us masks don’t work?” Wonder if the Govt will regret holding out on that decision for so long.
