The "Pope" is never mentioned in the bible. It was a self proclaimed title and retconned to combat against the The Eastern Orthodox Church during the Schism. During the Schism, 11th century (under Pope Gregory VII, 1073–1085): The title “Pope” was officially restricted only to the Bishop of Rome. Before then, they (plural) were bishops. Your definition of "pope" is the supreme authority of God's word that over rides the bible. That's why Sola Scriptura scares your church so much. If Rome owns the Bible, then why does the Bible contradict Rome’s doctrines?

Christianity wasn't even legal in Rome until 330AD. Rome didn't become the seat until 1054, during "The Great Schism when the pope of Rome, declared himself the supreme authority of the church. This was the birth of Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox Church. Before, it was one united Christianity. When Catholics claim Peter as the first Pope/ Papa, it's nothing more that a legitimacy grab from the time of the Schism. Peter was considered a Bishop never a "Pope". They retconned Peter as the Pope so they can claim to be the original church, when they are not.
