Persistent agent VMs are a fundamentally hard-to-run workload (they’re “pets”, not “cattle”). AFAICT, no provider can run it reliably.
Applications are going to have to architect for VM failures, like Claude Managed Agents does.

Responding to the Nth us-east-1 outage of my career, and there's so many under-rated ways in which agents (running on @niteshiftdev) make incident response better:
- No more spreadsheets: vibe up an interactive website with links to all the affected resources + deeplinks to the right admin pages to share in incident channels
- Generate customized comms for each customer, with detailed impact and recovery instructions
- Write, test, and deploy custom recovery code during the incident
This is, of course, in addition to the obvious use case of "@niteshiftdev investigate this incident for me" that works shockingly well with just Claude Code + the Datadog MCP

We all know with certainty that AI will drastically reduce the costs of corporate auditing. This cost-reduction already widespread in legal. One problem - the big 4 are holding the line, telling clients despite AI, we are not lowering rates. Curious how this lands. The "task" is way cheaper. Will one of the "next three" start disrupting with price? Will the PCAOB circle ranks in an ugly act of regulatory capture? I'm watching with interest. Any predictions?
