Jimmy Kimmel is freaking out that Spencer Pratt may make it to the LA mayoral general election, "Then you get a guy who is on a reality show, who's on a lot of reality shows. His profession is to be the screaming jerk on reality shows and his house burns down. Even though he had no private insurance on his house and doesn't believe in climate change, he is understandably upset about his house burning down. And since he's a moderately famous person, he gets attention." He also repeats the talking point that "He's living at the hotel Bel Air at the same time he's running a video claiming he lives in a trailer on the burned-out lot where his house was. Which he is not. He is living at the hotel Bel Air and using campaign money to pay for that. And yet still there's a group of people, many of whom believe themselves to be liberals, who are so angry they're willing to overlook this." Of course, Kimmel didn't mention the security aspects of the hotel stay (1/2)

@Mark_Wilson_ @ian_heyting $2 per hour is way before my time. It was $7.10 when I started out in BC, now it's going up to $18.25 on June 1st with less purchasing power

My older brother pumped gas for minimum wage ($2/hr). I mowed lawns and picked up trash in the yards of local businesses. I would $10 a pop for about 2.5hrs work on average. Twice what the kids with "jobs" have. Today, min wage is about $16/hr. It takes an hour to mow my lawn and I pay $35.

I'm in awe at the fact that (supposedly) grown adults are making donut shops a hot topic in Canada. I can't say I know an adult who eats pastries.

@Mark_Wilson_ @ian_heyting Almost everyone I grew up with had a real job. I worked at Tim Hortons, Wendy's and a gas station in high school and that was the norm in the 90s. I was able to save money for a trip to Europe in grade 11 and a car in grade 12 which would have been hard to do with odd jobs

@Jessica29257142 @ian_heyting There's work everywhere. Cleaning yards, mowing lawns, housesitting, babysitting, shoveling decks and walks and driveways... that's what I did. Never worked for minimum wage in my life. Neither did my kid.

@ian_heyting About twice a year at most. Mostly because I wake up at 4am, pound down a pre-workout that's about 300 mg caffeine before hitting the gym. I don't need to stand in line to buy shitty coffee. I have the recipe.

Tim Hortons
Tim Hortons@TimHortons·
Hi Scott, we think one of the biggest misperceptions about Tim Hortons is how the TFW program has been used. About 3.6% of team members were hired through the TFW program. These are positions in communities where restaurant owners faced documented labour shortages and went through the full government approval process before hiring. This new campaign will help Canadian restaurant owners hire 10,000 new local team members, supporting natural turnover and growth of Tim Hortons restaurants – including 80 new restaurants opening this year across Canada.

Remarkable & rare footage showing a drive through Berlin, Germany in early 1945, allegedly filmed in secrecy. Civilians, soldiers, and civil service personnel all pitch in cleaning up what appears to be the aftermath of an Allied bombing raid, while others simply go about their daily routines on the sides of the street

Mark Zuckerberg says he doesn't drink coffee or caffeine and does jiu-jitsu instead "Sometimes on vacation, I'll drink it recreationally. I don't like any kind of chemicals or anything like that" "My sister gives me such a hard time about that. She's like, 'You're just sitting there raw dogging reality'" "I wake up and I fight people... It's neurologically stimulating, good cardio and strength, it's a good day" "Better than caffeine for me. I'm just not into that stuff"

I used to listen to her every single day on my way home from work, and to her AM update on the way to work. I had no issue with her saying the Gaza war was taking too long. I disagreed, but I didn’t see anything wrong with her opinion. I defended her on here from people who said it was antisemitic or anti-Israel. My views didn’t change. I still don’t think she was wrong for saying that, but hers did. And it’s not what I, or so many of her longtime listeners, ever expected. I know she probably doesn’t care, or pretends not to, as she literally said we can F off. But it’s still sad to see how much she has changed over the last couple of months in ways I view as inconsistent on her part. This also goes beyond her views on Israel vs. Gaza. She used to be easy to listen to, but now there’s this thick air of obvious frustration and almost animosity, not to mention the nonstop cursing. The entire tone of the show feels angry now. It’s not for nothing that she’s bleeding subscribers on YouTube.

Megyn Kelly: “You know, his base really is his. And I think it's disrespectful to call them cult members. But they do have the same kind of loyalty as that where it's like in Trump we trust and he can do no wrong. And I get that. You know, they've been burned by a lot of other. politicians. They felt like Trump got them at a time when everybody was ignoring them. They feel a deep sense of loyalty.” “MAGA is not what it was. MAGA is now this very, very small group of Trump diehard loyalists who have to love Mark Levin. And so that’s by definition an increasingly tiny group.”
“I guess I’ve been surprised to see how quickly [MAGA has] shrunk down to something less formidable, by far, than it used to be.” Hodgetwins: “Now that I looked at Trump, I see George Bush 2.0.” “The money he's made, the new war he started, and there's absolutely no push back. It's like his base is the same people that supported the Iraq war, and it's like they haven't learned their lesson.”

The amount of ads on YouTube lives have gotten ridiculous. They make it near impossible to watch. An ad plays every few minutes. Are they placed automatically? I'm not paying $15.99 for premium. I'm just trying to watch my Sunday night show. 🤨 #FoodieBeauty

This cat came in with some serious attitude. Even before he opened the carrier, she made it very clear she was not happy about any of this. The screaming, the biting, the full-on battle mode — she was not playing. I would’ve been absolutely terrified trying to groom a cat like this. But this groomer stayed so calm and patient the whole time, even while she was doing her best to fight him. He just kept talking to her like it was no big deal and gave her the funniest little nicknames while she was losing her mind. Some cats really do have main character energy, and this one was fully living in it. Have you ever seen a cat that had this much personality during bath or grooming time?

@Jessica29257142 @dubsndoo Boomers are Trump's base. Not sure what you're talking about? Older white Americans that watch Fox News are his main supporters. The conservative movement in which Reagan started trickle down & got rid of Unions as well as regulations started this entire downfall. Learn history!

Boomers didn’t buy RVs that they couldn’t afford, we tented it. Boomers didn’t buy new cars, we bought used ones. Boomers didn’t spend six bucks for a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Boomers could hang all their clothes in a four foot closet. Boomers didn’t cry how tough their lives were, we fought through the tough times. Boomers have everything they have because they managed their money, didn’t squander it on frivolous things, and invested it in proven technologies and long term successful businesses. Boomers have zero fucks to give for whiners, fools, and couch potatoes.
