I'm in awe at the fact that (supposedly) grown adults are making donut shops a hot topic in Canada. I can't say I know an adult who eats pastries.

@Mark_Wilson_ It's not really about donuts. MapleMAGA have fixated on demonizing Tim Horton's as part of their anti-Canadian rhetoric, and want it to be destroyed by Dunkin Donuts as penalty for being "woke" or some other demented reason.

My older brother pumped gas for minimum wage ($2/hr). I mowed lawns and picked up trash in the yards of local businesses. I would $10 a pop for about 2.5hrs work on average. Twice what the kids with "jobs" have. Today, min wage is about $16/hr. It takes an hour to mow my lawn and I pay $35.

@Mark_Wilson_ @ian_heyting Almost everyone I grew up with had a real job. I worked at Tim Hortons, Wendy's and a gas station in high school and that was the norm in the 90s. I was able to save money for a trip to Europe in grade 11 and a car in grade 12 which would have been hard to do with odd jobs

@ian_heyting About twice a year at most. Mostly because I wake up at 4am, pound down a pre-workout that's about 300 mg caffeine before hitting the gym. I don't need to stand in line to buy shitty coffee. I have the recipe.
