I've been getting a lot of messages of concern, so I just wanted to say thanks and that my family is doing well here in Dubai. Everyday life here is mostly normal. We went out for a nice brunch yesterday at Banyan Tree on Bluewaters Island, then headed to the mall. It was packed, as you'd expect on a Sunday afternoon. The kids soft play centres were busy, and overall life felt very normal. The main differences right now are that we occasionally hear missile intercepts in the distance, and the kids have been doing distance learning instead of in-person school. During the recent heavy rain and strong winds, some roads did flood and delivery services were temporarily slow or offline, but the Dubai government and municipality teams acted fast, pumping out the water and getting things back to normal very quickly. It's also worth noting that there are propagandists out there massively exaggerating claims about Dubai and the UAE, spreading fake AI videos and fake news. Best to stick to official sources for accurate information. A big thank you to the UAE leadership and defence forces for keeping people safe, especially in the face of over 2,000 drone and missile attacks from the Iranian regime. I believe Dubai and the UAE will come out of this even stronger.
