The explosion of street vendors that are killing Korean business in Ktown with anarchy is orchestrated by these two councilmembers. These two clowns are enacting lax policies and third world standards as a form of economic restribution (their actual words). You won't find street vendors in front of Malibu Country Mart or West Hollywood. Ktown is an economic powerhouse punching way over its weight but unfortunately Koreans make up only 10% of the district they are assigned to, so they have almost no say in their own civic operation. Frankly, the policies feel destructive on purpose. They should split off Koreatown and Wilshire into a new district and let these two politicians experiment with other neighborhoods they control.

What’s up Doña you know I’m always honest here. Two factors on this one: 1) my dad was a State employee & huge union guy. CSEA as well as SEIU. I am sensitive to and often (not always) supportive of unions. Mentioned unions in the Broad piece on Friday as well. 2) I’ve reported on broken streetlights (and purple streetlights!) numerous times. Guess what? Many are STILL out in my neighborhood. Maybe this will lead to a fix/improvement because the alternative “doing nothing” sure won’t.

Over 60,000 streetlights in Los Angeles are currently broken! The reason is simple: The Bureau of Street Lighting hasn’t received additional funds for the past 30 years! An upcoming special election will allow L.A. to have a voice in making sure that the lights go back on. Let's get into it!

When I could finally afford my own place, this is the building I moved into in LA I got a one bedroom for $1,400 dollars Moved a guy into the living room to split the rent. Ten years later, rents have barely gone up. But the opportunities have left. LA should be the city people with dreams move too. Broke young people trying to make a life for themselves We need to beg businesses to come back. We need to get Hollywood back to work. We need to build more units to keep shitty studio apartments cheap. LA should be the place people leave Iowa for. But now- we are losing thousands of people a week. Save LA and you save America.

My guy.. who pays you? This is a horrible take. You and I and everyone else damn well knows if we dont enforce the laws, the copper in the new lights will just be stolen again. We are fed up with the continual raise in taxes that just gets pilfered away. You should be too. We need change here, not the status quo. Didn't your house get broken into? Have they found the culprits yet? Did they even try? How can you not be furious with the leaders of this city and the direction it is headed??!!
