1966年12月，刘少奇问题终于向社会公开，江青公开宣称“刘少奇是党内的赫鲁晓夫”，北京出现了“打倒刘少奇”的标语。同时，中央成立的“王光美专案组”负责对刘少奇，王光美的调查。此专案组直到1968年4月才公开以“刘少奇王光美专案组”名义活动，组长为周恩来。 1967年1月，毛最后一次接见刘。之后几天内 ，刘少奇办公室的电话线被拆除，刘也失去了人身自由，被软禁在北京家中。7月14日毛离开北京，7月18日，江青、康生、陈伯达组织批斗刘少奇和王光美的大会。据大陆出版的《中南海人物春秋》描述：中南海外，几十万人聚集四周，他们携带的一百多个高音喇叭奏出高调的喧闹声；中南海内，造反派把刘少奇、王光美分别揪到两个食堂内批斗，同时抄了他们的家。刘少奇被强按着头，弯腰站在会场前，不许他说一句话，否则就用语录本敲他的脸和嘴。批判持续近两个小时，年近七旬的刘少奇已难以忍受，汗珠不断地从他脸上渗出，他抽出手掏出手绢想擦一下汗，不料站在他旁边的人狠狠一掌把手绢打落，他的汗水也随着震动流在地上…… 8月5日，为了与天安门广场举行的百万人大会相呼应，江青、康生等人又策划了批斗刘、邓、陶大会，分别在各自家院内举行。刘少奇被打的鼻青脸肿。 批斗会后，刘少奇被押回办公室，他虽疲惫已极，但余怒未消，立即按铃叫来机要秘书，拿出《中华人民共和国宪法》，严正抗议说：“我是中华人民共和国的主席，你们怎么对我个人，这无关紧要，但我要捍卫国家主席的尊严，谁罢免了我的国家主席？要审判，也要通过人民代表大会，你们这样做，是在侮辱我们的国家，我个人也是一个公民，为什么不让我讲话？”尽管秘书当夜就写了汇报，但刘的抗议没有收到任何答复。 9月13日，刘少奇的子女们被赶出了中南海，王光美也被捕入狱，刘则被强迫抽去腰带，被“严加看守”起来。刘出现了精神恍惚等症状。此外，由于右腿被打伤，刘也无法自己去打饭，监管人员也不愿去打饭，只好打一次饭分吃几顿。刘的身体愈加虚弱。刘虽然没瘫痪，也只能躺在床上无力起身，没人给他换洗衣服，没有人扶他起床大小便；由于不活动，他的双腿肌肉逐渐萎缩；他的胳膊和臀部由于打针也被扎烂，护土日志写着：全身没有一条好血管。 1968年10月18日，中共中央专案审查小组成员周恩来、江青、康生、谢富治等人提出《关于叛徒、内奸、工贼刘少奇罪行的审查报告》，包括刘少奇在1925年、1927年、1929年被捕叛变、投降敌人、充当内奸、工贼的反革命罪行的调查结果。10月31日，中共八届十二中全会批准该报告，认为“党内头号走资本主义道路当权派刘少奇，是一个埋藏在党内的叛徒、内奸、工贼，是罪恶累累的帝国主义、现代修正主义和国民党反动派的走狗。”并通过决议：“将刘少奇永远开除出党，撤销其党内外的一切职务，并继续清算刘少奇及其同伙叛党叛国的罪行。”同时号召：“全党同志和全国人民继续深入展开革命大批斗，肃清刘少奇等党内最大的一小撮走资派的反革命修正主义的思想。” 11月24日，即刘少奇70岁生日那天，毛和周特意嘱咐汪东兴带给刘少奇一个特殊的生日礼物——收音机，目的是让他听八届十二中全会的公报。刘闻听后一下子就从精神上被击垮了，据说当时就大汗淋漓，呼吸急迫，嘴唇青紫，频频呕吐，血压陡然升高到260/130毫米汞柱，体温达40℃。 从此，刘少奇选择了沉默，不再说一句话了，哪怕是治病和生活用语也一句不说。或许此时的刘少奇多少应该明白了加入中共是件多么悲惨的事情。 1969年10月17日，依据林彪的“一号手令”，随时都可能死亡的刘少奇被专机送往河南开封。此时，刘已经浑身糜烂腥臭，骨瘦如柴，气息奄奄。中央特派员既不让洗澡，也不准翻身换衣服，而是把他扒个精光，包在一床被子中用飞机从北京空运到开封，监禁在一个坚固的碉堡地下室里。在他发高烧时不但不给用药，还把医护人员全部调走。 11月12日凌晨6时，刘离开了人世，终年71岁。临死时，刘已经没有人形，蓬乱的白发有二尺长。两天后的半夜，刘被按烈性传染病处理火化，用过的被褥枕头等遗物均被焚化一空。刘的死亡卡片上这样写着：姓名：刘卫黄；职业：无业；死因：病死。其骨灰下落不明。 ---刘少奇的悲惨结局是谁造成的？ 作者: 林辉
