Those in NC, please take a few moments to contact your legislators. HB259 is a step towards INequity in education. It goes against what research recommends & limits the funding for students from all backgrounds who have advanced needs @NAGCGIFTED #gifted
NCAGT@ncagt

New NC education legislation (HB 259) is being voted on that covers many educational issues, including drastic changes to gifted & talented programming and cuts to funding. Action across the state is needed NOW! See our blog at the link below for more info ncagt.org/post/proposed-…

@carlton_fong @SRMA_SIG @NSF Congrats!!! What's the full title? (The little bit that I can see looks like something I'd be very interested in!)

@carlton_fong The challenge is that people often finish their paper for AERA and then submit it to a journal before going to AERA. They aren't happy if the Editor doesn't assign reviewers for 3 weeks. So if you don't want Editors to send peer review requests, also suggest people don't submit!

PSA for all education/#EdPsych journal editors: Probably not a good idea to send peer reviewer requests for the next three weeks with all the hustle and bustle of #AERA23 #ProTip

@DrSebastianBarr If someone spends time reviewing my manuscript but not to the level of authorship, I try to include them in the acknowledgements. I would expect the use of ChatGPT to be acknowledged - as an #openscience advocate, I would want to know how it was used and to what degree.

Is anyone using ChatGPT for revision work on manuscripts and professional documents? Are you disclosing this in acknowledgments or elsewhere? Is disclosure necessary or appropriate? Is this different from having an assistant/secretary/spouse/colleague review - do we credit them?

@NAEmmanuele @AERA_EdResearch No slides. The number of people really varies, & if many come, they won't be able to see your device. If you want to have some graphs or a summary, bring some handouts. Do not read - share the essence of the study (don't spend time on lit review) in 10-12 min.

I’ll be presenting research at a roundtable @AERA_EdResearch in Chicago in a couple weeks. Can someone help explain the structure? Do people read papers? Summarize? Pull open a device and share slides? How long does each person get to speak? What’s typical? #AERA23 #AERA2023

Always so energizing when I get to talk w/ the STEM + C2 gifted facilitators! Love hearing about kids AND teachers being excited & learning & that universal screening is changing principals' & teachers' views of gifted identification. ❤️working w/ @drannrobinson & the UALR team!

@jacasiegel Have someone else read them and give you the top positive comments and 2-3 constructive comments that you could act on and make changes. Don't read the rest.

Sometimes I feel guilty and sad telling people how unsound the Myers Briggs tests are. I truly am sorry you are not an INFP.

@linellislee Our neighborhood mostly still does tables at the end of the driveway, one of the good things to come from Covid. My little one doesn't have to trek up to all the doors, we don't have to guess if the light is really on or just on a timer, and our dog doesn't go crazy.
