This is the life we live in Gaza… A life filled with constant fear and terror, bombardment and gunfire from one side, and another kind of fear chasing our children from the other. Even insects have become part of our daily suffering — strange and terrifying insects we have never seen before, spreading everywhere because of the harsh conditions we are forced to live in. Three days ago, my daughter Rafif was bitten five times on her cheek while she was sleeping, and I could do nothing to protect her or provide a safe place for her. How can we protect our children when we cannot even secure or properly close the place we are living in? The suffering in Gaza is no longer only from war and bombardment, but from every painful detail of daily life.
