The Green Party has written to Tony Gallagher, the editor of The Times
A party spokesperson said: "It is astonishing that amongst a rising climate of anti-Semitism in the UK, a national newspaper has chosen to publish a cartoon of the only Jewish political leader in the country using tropes so clearly associated with anti-semitic depictions of Jewish people.
"Zack faces daily anti-semitism, and in the past six weeks two people have been arrested for anti-semitic actions towards him. The words used by both politicians and the media this week, directing further attacks towards Zack in the wake of a violent attack on his community, are deeply irresponsible"

Here is the testimony of a Palestinian prisoner who left Israeli prisons alive in body… but whose soul remains trapped there under torture.
This former prisoner told me that what Palestinian detainees endure is not merely “harsh treatment,” as the world tries to describe it, but a real hell inflicted upon them every single day — through brutal beatings, humiliation, and savage torture until their bodies collapse and their souls are shattered by pain.
Even illness was not a mercy for them…
A prisoner whose health collapses and who is transferred to the prison clinic finds that the journey to treatment itself becomes another round of torture.
According to his testimony, the prisoner transport unit would beat them throughout the entire journey, electrocute them, deliberately press on their wounds, and target the areas where fractures and metal plates existed inside their bodies, while the prisoners screamed and cried from unbearable pain.
But the most horrifying part… was that the soldiers would tell them that their screams and crying were “an enjoyable sound” to them, something they took pleasure in hearing as if it were music.
At the end of his testimony, this former prisoner broke down in tears and said:
“I left prison a year and a half ago… but the torture never left me. It still lives inside my mind and body every single day, as if I am still there.”
Palestinian prisoners are not simply living through imprisonment… they are living a slow death inside Israeli prisons.
Every second they endure is filled with terror, oppression, and pain at the hands of people who have abandoned every meaning of humanity.
Please, do not leave the prisoners alone.
Do not remain silent… because silence is a partner in these crimes.
Raise your voices, speak about them, demand their freedom before death reaches them one by one behind prison bars.

This is what Donald Trump celebrated: Nine U.S. bunker buster bombs, double tap strike, both within the space of two hours, heavily impacted B1 bridge in Karaj, Alborz.
Beyond breaking international law by hitting civilian infrastructure, these strikes killed 13 Iranian civillians, of which included pregnant women and children as young as 6 months old.
250 people injured. On a day where families were picnicking below the bridge to celebrate nature day.
Where is the international community? Grave war crimes and the silence is deafening.

Israel has kidnapped the Spanish & Brazilian flotilla leaders Saif Abukeshek & Thiago Ávila in international waters, accusing them, without evidence, of terrorist affiliation & "illegal activity".
Delivering aid to starving civilians is not a crime.
Israel, release them now!
Jeremy Corbyn@jeremycorbyn
They were not intercepted. They were abducted in international waters. This is piracy - and is a flagrant violation of international law.

In the Gaza Strip, reality bears no resemblance to what is read or seen on screens. There is a vast difference between witnessing suffering and experiencing it firsthand in all its daily details.
What is happening here today defies description. In the tent, where one is supposed to find a modicum of safety, the most difficult moments begin when searching for water. Water is no longer as readily available as it once was, after desalination plants were destroyed during the war, and others ceased operation due to fuel shortages. Even those that have been repaired remain powerless against the siege and the scarcity of resources. Obtaining water has become a simple yet elusive dream, a dream pursued daily by the head of the household without any guarantee of its fulfillment.
And the suffering doesn't end there. In the tents, where there is no real protection, insects attack people at night, disrupting their meager sleep and exacerbating their exhaustion, in the absence of medicine and pest control. These details may seem minor, but they are cruel when repeated daily, weighing heavily on the lives of those who live there with no choice.
This is not an exaggeration, but a reality I have lived myself, and I write it as it is, without embellishment or omission. Here, we have no luxury of escaping this reality, nor any alternative.
All we hope for is that our voices are heard.
That our lives are heard, not as summarized in the news, but as they truly are.
This is Gaza… where the most basic rights become a daily struggle.

@Normanjam67 @reacctionary I do too, although I've already seen the comment by then, which is likely the aim.

Here's a post that will divide on a Friday!
Trying to remain as apolitical as possible, do you think Zack Polanski was wrong to repost THAT tweet by @snowleopardess?
@dodgson_sally and I are about to record some new @NoHoldsPod episodes, and I thought I'd test the water.
Personally, I think it was a strong step too far by the police. They had the guy on the ground, and he was apparently experiencing a 'medical incident'.
There was no need for both coppers to hoof him repeatedly in the head.
The initial post was correct, in my opinion. If it turns out that he has suffered a brain injury and can't stand trial, then what?
Have fun!

.@Keir_Starmer says @ZackPolanski isn’t fit to lead a political party.
Well, Sir Keir, at least Zack will still be leading one at the end of the year.

🚨 URGENT: GSF PARTICIPANTS BRUTALIZED BY IOF AFTER 40 HOURS AT SEA 🚨
Global Sumud Flotilla participants have just survived 40 hours of calculated cruelty aboard an iOF navy vessel in Greek waters.
They were denied adequate food and water. They were forced to sleep on floors that were deliberately and repeatedly flooded.
When the military moved to abduct two participants, Saif Abukeshek (Spain / Palestinian origins) and Thiago Ávila (Brazil), our crew peacefully resisted and the response was sheer violence.
Participants were punched, kicked, and dragged across the deck with their hands bound behind their backs. They suffered broken noses, cracked ribs and bloody beatings. Shots were even fired at them in the chaos.
The nightmare isn't over. Greek police are now trapping our battered crew on buses, denying them the freedom to leave while Saif and Thiago have been abducted and taken back to Occupied Palestine.
Our participants remain unbroken: 60 participants have immediately launched a hunger strike.
This is a vicious attack on peaceful civilians. We will not look away. We demand their freedom and international accountability NOW.

The ironic thing is, the more the government moves rightward and stress people out - mental health will get worse in the UK. The way the Government are acting will push people over the edge and at the same time they are dismantling everything we have.
Jill Rowan@JillRowan1
If this were a sane country we would have people speaking up today to say OK we made a mistake, he wasn't a terrorist after all, our appallingly neglected mental health system failed both him & the victims and we need to do something about that. Instead we see doubling down. Why?
English

Yes! A mentally ill man went on a knife rampage, so obviously the only rational response to that is to, er, ban people who are protesting Israeli genocide...
I think UK is having a mental health crisis as well.
