We’re meant to believe a man allegedly travelled from Rotherham to Dartmoor to the exact address of a Tory turned national treasure and there was no political motivation? This stinks, says Brendan O’Neill

Just heartbreaking what happened in Italy.
A 30 year old Italian father with a 4 month old baby girl at home was bringing food back from work when some illegal African migrant working as a shady parking scammer stabbed him to death.
The victim had actually shown this guy kindness before; gave him food and clothes.
All it got him was a knife in the body during a fight over refusing to pay some illegal shakedown fee.
The killer tried to run but got caught and charged with murder.
This is what happens when countries let in repeat offender illegals and look the other way.
Another innocent dad gone. Another family destroyed.
Europe’s migrant disaster keeps claiming lives while the elites pretend it’s not happening.
When are they going to put their own people first?

There should be zero “Islamic events” in Suffolk or anywhere else on these our islands.
Remigration will reverse the normalisation of ethnic strife which is a direct result of decades of replacement migration.
We will not surrender our birthright to any foreign tribe.

Shocking news that Counter Terrorism Police are investigating a credible, serious threat targeted at an Islamic event in Suffolk. Thanks to the quick action taken by police and the organisers, nobody was hurt. My message is clear: I will not tolerate any attacks on our Muslim communities, or any form of anti-Muslim hatred.

🚨 BREAKING: A Catholic teacher is taking legal action after being dismissed from her job the day after answering students’ questions about her pro-life beliefs.
Sarah Morse, a history teacher at Arbroath High School in Scotland, says pupils asked her about her views on abortion, gender ideology and US politics. She says she made clear that it was ‘fine to disagree’ with her and did not attempt to persuade students to adopt her views.
According to Ms Morse, ‘I was summarily dismissed … I was not offered any sort of right of reply, asked for my account of what happened, or how my legally protected beliefs were raised in the context of a history class, and the head teacher wouldn’t even see me.’
She is now bringing an employment tribunal claim against Angus Council, alleging discrimination on the basis of her legally protected beliefs.
Michael Robinson from the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), which is supporting her case, said the dismissal of a teacher for respectfully answering students’ questions according to her conscience is ‘a grave matter’.
Angus Council has declined to comment, citing the ongoing legal proceedings.
📅 The employment tribunal is scheduled to begin on 24 August 2026.
This will be a closely watched case, with significant implications for freedom of expression, freedom of religion and the ability of pro-life people to hold and express their beliefs in the workplace.

What is needed from @Pontifex is something akin to Summorum Pontificum but in the form of an Apostolic Constitution.

@EricRSammons Those remarks wd carry more weight, if the Holy See had not done much that is anti-Catholic. There is a far bigger crisis here, that Rome seems to ignore, than a few consecrations, or even than which Rite of Mass to use. Rome has to repent of the Pachamama filth.
English

Some wave away the SSPX excommunications because a few public canonists claim they are improperly worded (although other canonists disagree).
Regardless, using that as an excuse to ignore the excommunications betrays a spirit contrary to Catholicism.

@EricRSammons In practice, insofar as the Holy See does not consider further documents on this point necessary, (at least) one of the so-called principia reflexa (see the manuals of moral theology) would certainly apply here: "In dubio standum est pro valore actus" (the decree already issued).

@EricRSammons I think the question is whether SSPX priests and faithful, as opposed to just the six bishops, have been publicly declared excommunicated
We shouldn't ignore what Rome has done, but these distinctions matter
English

priests' job is to offer sacrifice of the Mass. end of story
the pope is the visible head of the Church but he is not and end in and of himself. this hyperpapalism errs in excess relative to Vatican I.
the pope has authority with a purpose.
as Aquinas teaches, Charity (love of God) is the only virtue that cannot be done to excess
English
James_B retweetledi

@EricRSammons you're all missing the point. bishops, priests and parents need to be faithful to God. the pope is a servant to that end. many people cannot raise their kids Catholic without SSPX. bishops' duty to pass on the faith supersedes procedures.

@EricRSammons All penalties have been suspended now anyway until Rome adjudicates x.com/sspxen/status/…
