@FPLFundamental I can't see myself paying up for Gabriel at that price. Think I will look to spend that kind of money in midfield or up front. But Arsenal do have some favourable fixtures in the opening months. Still, I think going without him won't be disastrous.

@FPLFundamental Think at £8.5m that will put many off. New team, pretty tough opening set of fixtures. A wait and see for me.

🚨 Gabriel has been revealed at £8.0m in #FPL! That’s a huge £2.0m price rise following the best season of his career. 📈 💸 Too expensive for a defender? 🤝 Or still worth paying the premium? Is Gabriel locked into your Gameweek 1 squad? 👇

@FPL_Harry I think he's a little overpriced but you'd be brave to go without him.

@NRLSCC True and seen the news that Jenkins is going to play fullback against the Eels. Will be an interesting watch!

@JimBronco42 Yeah don’t mind Katoa with their run home but seems a bit injury prone these days. I think I’d go with To’o out of the ones you’ve mentioned. The only negative this week is no Edwards who feeds that side well. Still expect him to do well vs Eels.

@NRLSCC True. I was all set to get Sasagi for Makasini, but going cold on him. Average has dropped (upside takes a hit with Strange on left). Now weighing up other options. Sione Katoa another I'm considering.

@NRLSCC Do you think Johnston and To'o are better options to bring in than Sasagi?

📈 MOST TRADED IN 🐴 Reece Walsh | FLB | $555,000 Coming off a ton with huge involvement, Walsh has been traded in by 23% of all SuperCoaches this week. He may produce again against North Queensland, but the Cowboys side named this week is no joke and I think they’ll be difficult to beat at home. More broadly, Brisbane are one loss away from being completely out of the finals race, if they aren’t already. Once that happens, I think their players become largely irrelevant after the emotional toll of last season’s run. Walsh has also produced just one ton all season. Verdict: Not for me. 🟢 Simi Sasagi | CTW | $600,800 Sasagi’s work rate is slowly returning to where it was earlier in the season and I can see him producing against the Tigers this week. The concern is what follows. He faces the Panthers, Knights and Sharks before Canberra’s Round 26 bye, which is terrible timing. He looks safe enough, but I don’t think he carries the same upside as some of the other CTW options available. Verdict: Decent buy, but I’d rather target matchups. 🐓 James Tedesco | FLB | $576,800 Tedesco is my buy of the week. You rarely get the opportunity to buy him at this price and he returns well rested after the Origin period at the time of the season when he traditionally thrives. He’s a straightforward replacement for Tom Trbojevic and also a viable downgrade from Sua Fa’alogo, allowing you to bank around $200k for upgrades elsewhere. Verdict: Buy of the week. 🐾 Thomas Jenkins | CTW | $772,400 Jenkins is a premium, endgame CTW playing on the end of the best attacking side in the competition. The sooner you bring him in, the more opportunities you give yourself to benefit from his enormous ceiling. There isn’t much more to complicate here. Verdict: Approve of this trade. ⚔️ Dylan Lucas | 2RF | $831,800 Lucas may genuinely be the best 2RF in SuperCoach. I thought he was a buy before last week’s matchup at the absolute latest, and while you can still bring him in now, you’re paying top dollar after a huge run of tries and attacking statistics. He remains an outstanding option, but at the current prices I would rather save close to $200k and target Tino Fa’asuamaleaui. Verdict: Elite player, but I’d rather buy Tino at the price. 🐴 Payne Haas | FRF | $684,100 I wrote last week that Haas wasn’t a necessity and nothing has changed. There are several excellent FRF options already in most sides and particularly for coaches running low on trades, I don’t think he’s an absolute must-have. Like Walsh, Brisbane’s situation is the concern. One more loss officially ends their finals hopes, and there is very little for the Broncos to gain by continuing to flog 80 minutes into a player who won’t be there next season. His PPM has also been nothing special. Should Haas pick up any injuries or niggles, it wouldn’t surprise me if his management or South plead to Madge for reduced minutes or an early finish to his season. He’ll still score well, but the risk outweighs the need. Verdict: Strong option, but not a necessity.

🔱 Tino | 2RF/FRF | $636,100 He’s back. Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is currently being traded in by just 1/50th of the top 5% of SuperCoaches. Incredibly low for a player who looked as good as he did on the weekend and with his pedigree. Passed the eye test comfortably on Sunday, producing a line break, a try assist and a neat ton, built on an outstanding 80 points in base and power across 62 minutes. More importantly, he finally looks to have moved past the knee issues that disrupted the early part of his season. Outside of reduced minutes backing up from Origin against Melbourne, he’s scored below 76 just once (58) since Rd 6 and has quietly re-established himself as one of the best base and power players in the game. Yet to score a try this season and has managed just three major attacking stats. That’s not Tino-esque. When he becomes a volume ball-runner and starts finding his offload, good things tend to happen around him. He naturally beats tackles and is always a focal point through the middle. The draw only adds to the appeal. The Titans play five of their final seven games at home, with five day games, an evening game at home vs Dolphins and a night game in Townsville. Plenty of matchups where Tino should be able to impose himself through the middle. Titans may be out of finals contention, but there are signs of life. They’ve beaten Penrith and Manly recently, pushed Melbourne in Melbourne and still have plenty of incentive to finish strongly and build toward 2027. At $636k, the value is pretty obvious. He reached $760k last season and eclipsed $800k his previous season. The pedigree is there and his dual 2RF/FRF status could also be useful for Twal/May owners looking for cover in RD23. With injuries to players like Tallis Duncan and Hudson Young, and Tapine/Mooney/Paseka upgrade options, Tino looks like a genuine POD keeper to me. At just 5% ownership among the top 5%, now looks like the time to jump on and make up some ground. #NRLSuperCoach #SuperCoachNRL #SuperCoachCounsel

Tallis Duncan is expected to miss 2-3 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in Round 20. Likely minor strain with that recovery timeframe - hamstring injuries are known for their high recurrence rate, with the risk being greatest in the first 2 weeks back (10-15%).

Turbo to… 1) Walsh, $555k, cut-price and high ceiling if Broncos play Reece ball 2) Teddy, $577k, fallen gun, juicy H2H prelim and finals matchups (WST, DOL at home) 3) Drinky, $613k, goalkicking and best run home draw 4) Ponga, $763k, arguably most consistent and best FLB this season 5) JC, $615k, a tonne of home day games run home, enables VC C Cleary Hynes Big decisions to be made! Which way you leaning?
