I’ve directed the @CivilRights Division, through our new Second Amendment Section, to defend law-abiding Americans from unconstitutional restrictions. No one should face criminal penalties simply for exercising a right shared by tens of millions—regardless of where they live. justice.gov/opa/pr/justice…

The Department of Justice sued New York regarding the state’s “Green Light Law,” which allows illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licenses. The “Green Light Law” seeks to unlawfully thwart federal immigration enforcement by requiring state officials to tip off the targets of federal investigations and preventing the federal government from obtaining and using information the state is required by law to share with the federal government. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…

This is just flat wrong. The Georgia Republican Party has celebrated the wins of Governor Kemp, Lt. Governor Jones, Speaker Burns, and our entire Republican team over the last three years I’ve served as Chairman. While many people criticized the GOTV strategy of the Trump campaign and the Georgia Republican Party in 2024, we simply showed up and worked with all of our partners winning from the Presidential race on down and shifting over 130 Georgia counties to the right versus 2024. We are working now as we did in 2024 to be ready to turn out the vote for our Republican ticket in 2026. Erick you have my personal phone number and are welcome to reach out anytime to offer your advice to this volunteer. I am sure we can always improve but I’m not sure how lying about how the party has operated is helpful to anyone.

Brian Kemp pushed through the state legislature: - school choice - Religious Freedom Restoration Act - bans on boys in girls’ sports - tort reform - election reform - Tebow Act - a human trafficking crackdown - tax cuts - expanded prosecution powers for the Attorney General to combat local woke prosecutors - etc. etc. etc. Plus he reopened Georgia before any other state during COVID, getting attacked by both President Trump and the leftwing media at the time for doing so. And he’s run budget surpluses and refunded money to taxpayers. But the state Republican Party apparatus would rather blame him for things he didn’t do than help him get more Republicans elected. This is why the GOP in Georgia keeps losing winnable races these days. The party apparatus has been hijacked by professional victims who’d rather complain and re-litigate past elections than actually try to win future races. Georgia risks going left because the Republican Party in the State of Georgia is the GOP’s own worst enemy, turning success into the enemy, and complaining instead of working to persuade voters. We’re watching the Democrats in Georgia coordinate to take over the State Supreme Court while the Republican Party whines about 2020 all over again.

AOC says Democrats should respond to SCOTUS weakening the VRA by doing their own redistricting until a national gerrymander ban passes

STATEMENT FROM @GaRepublicans Chairman Josh McKoon Today, the United States Supreme Court delivered a historic and long-overdue victory for equal protection under the law by striking down key provisions of the Voting Rights Act that have long imposed artificial racial quotas and distorted our electoral maps. We applaud the Justices for rejecting the race-based mandates that forced states like Georgia to prioritize racial gerrymandering over compact districts that respect communities of interest, traditional boundaries, and the principle of color-blind justice enshrined in our Constitution. For too long, the VRA’s outdated and unconstitutional requirements have prevented Georgia from drawing fair maps that truly reflect the will of our voters. With this decision, we are finally freed from those artificial constraints. The Georgia Republican Party calls on the General Assembly to convene a special redistricting session as soon as practicable to redraw Georgia’s Congressional, State House, and State Senate districts. These new maps must prioritize traditional redistricting principles—contiguity, compactness, respect for political subdivisions, and communities of interest—without the distorting influence of racial targets. Georgians deserve districts that unite neighbors, preserve local communities, and ensure every vote counts equally. We stand ready to support swift action that advances fair representation and upholds the equal protection guarantees of the 14th Amendment. This is a win for democracy, the rule of law, and all Georgians.
