Absolute truth. Many, years ago my then young son was in acting. I had a conservative sticker on my car and we were out for an audition for a movie. I didn't know it was a casting director who parked next to me but she gave us the evil eye. Then riding up in the elevator, she behaved rudely. I said nothing to him about her. His audition ended up being with her. When he came he was crying, she told him, that his mother was a stupid ass and he'd never make it in the business because he was a lousy actor. There are many hateful, evil, and cruel, demons in Hollywood. He was an innocent small child.

If the Red Sox were to sign Alex Bregman to a deal with a $30 MM AAV and offered Lucas Giolito the QO and it was accepted ($22.025 MM), their Luxury Tax number for 2026 would already be at $257.47 MM. That’s with Nathaniel Lowe being non-tendered and Trevor Story opting in. This would be before they add a power bat, figure out 1B, add a #2 starter, and add to the bullpen.

Fred, I have a one year old golden retriever and she can't settle down at all. I'm a mailman 6 days a week and I walk 5-7 miles a day but I walk more on Sunday than I do on any work day

@MattMcCarthy985 just curious about the process behind trading Quinn Priester. I find it really hard to believe that he didn't project to be better than Dobbins, Fitts or Newcombe. Something is seriously wrong with this team's talent evaluators.

@toucherandhardy I'm a letter carrier and I'm out in it for 60 hours a week. The summer unequivocally sucks. It hasn't been fun since it was synonymous with summer vacation from school which was 30 years ago. Fuck this season in it's entirety.

@Johnston985 @toucherandhardy none of the additions are going to matter if Jeremy Swayman continues to let up 4 goals a game. He's the biggest question mark on this team right now.

@MattMcCarthy985 He's on a good run, Matt, but if you trade him in the middle of the hottest stretch he's had in Boston, you're punting on the season. They aren't going to get the type of returns for anyone they trade that will help this current ballclub. Postseason hopes will be over.

He isn’t and there is nothing to suggest over his entire career in Boston that he is good outside of about 2 months.

@toucherandhardy I'm not in love with Jarren Duran, but the problem with trading him and players like Story and Chapman is that you are officially punting on this team's postseason hopes. If that's the plan, fine but everybody needs to really shut up and let the rebuild happen.

@danbahl Houck needs to be on the chopping block as well. He WAS healthy to start the season and still stunk. If we're being honest, this team has 1 really good pitcher. The others are meh to terrible.

@toucherandhardy at least the Boston Calling lineup had a few more "who cares" bands instead of all "who?" this year. Still....no metal...no hardcore. Honestly this festival is trying to be Coachella to a bunch of people who just treat music like it's background noise.

Bregman's quad injury is "significant." This is terrible news. Devers has to play 3rd base, at least part-time. You can't keep Story in the lineup. Mayer needs to play short. If the Sox were serious, they'd call up Anthony with Devers playing some at 3rd.
