As the White House pushes for more coal, they lamented an “energy landscape perpetually trapped in the 1970s.” How do you say "IRONY"? thehill.com/policy/energy-…

Only a heartless, savage, barbaric people would bomb a hospital where the sick and injured are already fighting for their lives. But that’s exactly what Vladimir Putin did to a hospital I visited in Chernihiv, Ukraine just a few days ago. The U.S. can help stop this ruthless war criminal and I will be voting yes this week for Ukraine support. reuters.com/world/europe/r…

This is the type of "mitigation" we need to avoid. Sea levels are rising. We need to adjust. We've known this was coming, & I do not understand why national taxpayers should subsidize coastal homes more. bbc.com/news/world-us-…

President Biden will be delivering his State of the Union address this week. Our country is facing many challenges, and I look forward to hearing his plans for addressing them. What do you believe is the most pressing issue for our nation that you would like to hear about in his speech?

@RepChuckEdwards @NewsNation @MarkieMartin go on the interview circuit when you develop a bipartisan bill that has a chance to pass - like Senators before it was tanked by GOP members who want talking points during election cycles, not solutions. I'm done with GOP talking points not designed to reach a solution

@don_kraus @DanaNuccitelli Thanks for your choice @don_kraus ! Cars bought in 2024 will mostly still be on the road in 2035. Our personal decisions this year have a major impact on our countries ability to decarbonize.

@hammackl @TomMoyerUT Lonnie, we have a hybrid & and EV. We thought we'd use the hybrid for traveling too. But we find it's easy to find charge stations as long as you can plug into Tesla Supercharger Network. Now we just drive the EV on extended trips too.

@TomMoyerUT I’m retiring this year, so bought a hybrid instead. I plan to do a lot of traveling and wasn’t so confident about charging in the more remote sections of the country. I figure I can switch over to an EV over the next five years when the charging infrastructure is more mature.

@TomMoyerUT Rest up. I got COVID for Thanksgiving this year - and gave it to Celeste before I knew what it was. No fever, just R E A L L Y tired. Basically I'd wake up to figure out where my next nap was going to be. And cough/congestion. Hope you can rest and recover.

I’m holding a copy of the NDAA that my team has dug into extensively. There are too many compelling wins in here for our military men and women and for America’s national security for it to be thrown out.

Great news! USDOT will be providing a $1 billion grant for North Carolina to make progress on the Raleigh to Richmond Rail Line, an investment made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I helped negotiate, write, and pass into law. This project is a big win for economic development in the region and I want to thank @SecretaryPete for recognizing its importance.

@johnrhanger Total emissions are what counts. Even with coal dropping, overall US emissions increased in 2022 continuing rebound since COVID. There's a downward trend if COVID decrease is skipped, but we need to work on reducing emissions from burning natural gas also eia.gov/todayinenergy/…

Good morning with good news: US Coal generation is down 20% in 2023 through September and will fall to 1970 levels! Coal will be ~16% of US electricity in 2023. Ten states have zero coal electricity, and 20 states are at or near zero coal. Distributed solar is not in data below

A real issues we need action on - coastal flood - #Florida and my home state of #NorthCarolina Just don't try to nationalize the foreseeable costs! Coastal properties are already uninsurable - surprised the market prices hold up... for now. iccinet.org/statecryo23/
