Some conspiracy fringe question whether Oswald did indeed execute Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit at point blank range. A shame they have not read CASE CLOSED. Here is the evidentiary record—condensed from my book: MULTIPLE eyewitnesses saw the shooting and the escape: Helen Markham (half a block away) watched the murder and screamed in fear as Oswald trotted back toward her as he left the scene. The Davis sisters were inside their nearby home and went outside when they heard the shots. They saw Oswald crossing their lawn ejecting shells. Taxi driver William Scoggins was eating his lunch half a block away from the murder. He saw Tippit fall and hid behind his taxi as Oswald fled, muttering “poor dumb cop.” Markham, the Davis sisters, and Scoggins, all picked Oswald from a police lineup only hours after the murder. Truck driver Domingo Benavides was only fifteen feet from Tippits’s car and had an unobstructed view of Oswald during the shooting and his escape. He identified Oswald when he first saw him on television. Other witnesses at two nearby used car lots saw Oswald fleeing with a gun in hand and later identified him. Among them were Ted Callaway, Sam Guinyard, Warren Reynolds, William Arthur Smith and B. M. Patterson. Again, some picked him out of the police lineup and others identified him from photographs. Jack Tatum, who was driving past the murder scene, made himself available and testified to the HSCA that he had “no question whatsoever” that Oswald was the shooter. Oswald left physical evidence: a light-colored jacket discarded during his flight. Witnesses saw the killer wearing it; Oswald was seen wearing one minutes earlier; he had none when arrested. Marina Oswald identified the recovered jacket as one of only two her husband owned. Ballistics: four shell casings recovered at the scene were matched to Oswald’s revolver to the exclusion of any other weapon. One of the bullets recovered from Tippit’s body was also conclusively matched to that same gun. This is not a close call. It is one of the most extensively witnessed and corroborated street murders in modern American history.

🚨 Remember the Cruz–Oswald photo that ricocheted through the 2016 election? Fabricated. In 2024, the former National Enquirer publisher admitted under oath: “We mashed the photos together… That’s how the story was created.” It’s not surprising that tabloids manufacture scandals to sell papers and turn history into entertainment. What is more upsetting is that 10 years later there has never been any meaningful reckoning from the legacy outlets that breathlessly amplified it. That’s how misinformation endures.

YESSSSS!! She did a fucken hell of a job. I absolutely loved her in it. When you know who gets shot… I screamed so loud. I didn’t believe it and rewound and didn’t accept the death. I was like THEY WOULDNT. oh gosh tearing up just thinking about it. Lol! I think this was one of her best performances. That and Mildred Pierce. I’ve watched that mini series four times.
