For lifelong learners, serious readers, history buffs, documentary watchers, nonfiction readers, biography readers, Ancient Rome obsessives, map nerds, writers, researchers, and founders with too many tabs open: I’m building something for people who still care about story, context, research, and taste. Not another feed. Not a summary machine. A better way to spend time with the ideas you keep coming back to. More soon.

The problem with most social and consumer apps are they are trying to make the same thing better instead of making something different.

@pcshipp hey I happened to catch this convo — I had some thoughts on your englishoo app (which looks awesome btw) — my suggestion is niche down / and go after B2B2C — particularly staffing agencies (more below): The strongest niche is practical English sold through staffing agencies serving manufacturing, warehousing, food production, construction, hospitality, and similar frontline industries. Each agency could turn job descriptions, safety instructions, onboarding materials, and common supervisor conversations into short, role-specific English training that improves first-day readiness, reduces misunderstandings, and helps placements last longer. Instead of charging individual learners a monthly subscription, the agency would pay through a B2B model based on active workers, placements, or client locations. That gives the product built-in distribution, clearer ROI, and a much lower customer-acquisition burden than going directly after consumers. TLRD; rebrand as English training for staffing agencies. Increase pricing for larger useage / groups (now you’re talking $50-$500/mo price range potentially). Build lists around staffing agencies for GTM. Integrate with top ATS systems for ecosystem play.

@dev_mario I feel really stressed. I'm giving 100% to my product, but there's still no revenue. Sometimes users pay but don't stay. It makes me wonder if my product isn't good enough, and that leaves me confused. Thanks for your suggestion.

Never allow yourself to become stressed. Whenever you get upset, no matter the reason, you lose. Stress raises cortisol, which can negatively affect both your mind and your body. Protect your peace. It’s one of the best thing you can do to yourself.

@_____Lightning @seema_amble 1. The age-old joke is being called “Ma’am” makes woman think they’re old. Doubt she felt disrespected. She’s kidding. 2. I believe the equivalent for a man would be “Sir”. Pretty light hearted — I wouldn’t read much into it.

@seema_amble is that a bad thing? Should they not be polite or you took it as a form of agism and or disrespect? What would be the equivalent for a man?

Here’s what I’m doing for my pricing strategy (prosumer, ai, b2c, media) — might be a good idea starter for you: - Free* ($0/mo.) ↴ - Simple ($8/mo.) ↴ - Standard ($15/mo.)↴ - Advanced** ($25/mo.) Set your price depending on the value/cost (also market, audience, competitors, etc.) use similar % gap for plans. (0, 1x, ~2x, 3x base plan) Step up features and access for each tier. I believe the simple to standard upgrade conversion is the key focus. Free Plan (optional): Makes sense especially if there’s a secondary revenue source (ads, api, data, etc.) leverage them as marketing asset and to demonstrate early traction (they’re the ones waiting in line outside of the club). **Advanced price pegged to industry leader’s highest price point. Includes community access, beta releases, etc. these are your promoters / loyal enthusiasts. As an example, say you’re launching a claude code competitor — your highest tier would be $200/mo. right out of the gate. Attracts a premium user while applying the right amount of downward pressure on the standard plan; which is where you want your volume. Then I have 1 fixed price add-on (they can buy as many as they want - non-recurring), which is only available to purchase by standard and advance users. This is 2x my high tier, $50/ea. Whatever that fixed price add-on could be in your model — use as a carrot in a referral program (refer x number of paid users or total fees and they earn 1 of the add-ons — needs to be worth it for you and them value wise — think how Dropbox gave free storage with their referral program) Monthly pricing only. Hope this helps; happy to hop on call if you want. Looking forward to seeing what you’re building. ✌️
