It's concerning that the Nichols gave this footage to Julie Roys, a woman known for her utter disdain for institutional church leadership, and with a clear ax to grind against any church in the conservative orbit (MacArthur and Sproul were close friends). It's also interesting that Roys put the footage unlisted on her YT channel, hasn't reported on the situation (perhaps because her website is broken), but clearly sent the link to some people. In my view, the footage makes the issue markedly worse for the Nichols.

The media isn't covering this, so a lot of people will not know about the consequences of threatening ICE and other law enforcement officers but a bunch of those crazed anarchists who were following ICE and threatening them have been convicted in court, and now are doing time.
Our idiot media valorized them and gave the impression that they could do this stuff without consequences. You can't.

@AKofiCup, I hear your caution, but denying the value of examining one's spiritual disciplines—even on a deathbed—still appears to ignore the Apostle Paul's direct command to "test yourselves to see if you are in the faith" (2 Cor. 13:5). While you claim no issue with Paul, your discomfort with Brother Washer's questions to MacArthur suggests otherwise, as those inquiries align with biblical self-examination for evidence of true faith, such as obedience and communion with Christ. The Reformed faith view this as a call to personal introspection, checking for Christ's indwelling through holiness and fruit. As for being the "sole interpreter" of your views, brother, we're all accountable to Scripture—let's engage the text humbly without dismissing valid applications. Don't get fooled into thinking self-examination is optional, harsh, or unloving when a brother's eternity could be at stake. That's not the Bible talking; that's hyper-grace sneaking in the back door. Iron sharpens iron, Kofi. Grace and peace, brother.

I don’t quite connect with all of the (reformed) pastors who are taking issue with Paul Washer asking a dying John MacArthur, “Is it well with your soul?” This should be the FIRST question a pastor asks of any Christian soon to meet the Lord.

I feel like folks are clouding what is a pretty clear issue:
- Asking someone if they are reading the Word and prayer is not bad.
- Making them the reason for assurance is the problem.
It's fruit inspection instead of lifting people's eyes up towards heaven.

@JeffreyPWiesner Tacomas are more trendy, they’re ‘in.’ And have been for a while with the younger kids. That’s it. Someday he’ll move on to a 1st/2nd gen 4Runner or 1st gen Sequoia.. haha

My 18 year old son’s “dream car” is an old Toyota Tacoma (🤷♂️). So I sometimes peep used models and here’s what I don’t get:
2nd gen Tacomas and 4th gen 4Runners of the same model year have the same engine and almost the same chassis but the latter is 25%-35% cheaper.

I do ask that you pray for our friends in Moscow. Our desire is peace. That can only come when they repent for slandering the good names of Christian brothers (including ourselves).
Unfortunately, they are content to add provocation upon provocation by spreading false reports.
