Unless this roster is upgraded dramatically (from outside or within), the Yankees are not winning a championship. They'll win 85+, get a wildcard in a weak AL, and then get eliminated, but that's about it. And, until Yankee fans start demanding more, that's all they'll keep getting.

The score is tied in the 9th inning of a postseason game. The bases are loaded with two outs. How many hitters in the lineup do you have absolutely no confidence in? How many relievers wont have you terrified to watch? The size of both lists is a good indicator of how much of a contender your favorite team really is.

It is very interesting that I see a ton of criticism thrown towards Jazz and Grisham. I see awful trade ideas surrounding relief pitchers and one tool players. Yet, I don’t see the same energy for Austin Wells. And I like Wells but he’s their worst hitter by quite a bit.
