Ahead of their first meeting since winning the gold medal with Team USA, Matthew Tkachuk says he still doesn’t understand how Auston Matthews doesn’t get the credit he deserves for the player he is. He also says Matthews was just as good of a captain on the ice as he was off the ice. “He was so incredible for our team, as a captain, as a leader, everything on and off the ice. I will admit if they played that gold medal game 100 times Canada probably wins 40 of em. Thats what makes this rivalry great. Very evenly matched. Today #USA was the better team. Canada will have a chance to avenge it in 4 years.
