People think this is funny but this is literally how most people form their opinions on things. There are a ton of studies out there showing that just meeting a likeable gay person increases your chances of supporting LGBT rights massively

in high school during the same-sex marriage plebiscite our Chinese teacher told us that up until recently she "didn't know such a thing was possible" (same sex attraction) but she voted Yes because her most academically diligent student was gay so that made her like gay people

The next Dem who runs for president should run promising that Americans who get a raise will no longer lose money because of higher taxes and promise that from now on, the higher tax rate will only apply to your additional income, not the income under that amount.

If a colleague ever approaches you to talk about how X, Y, Z thing has changed since childhood and is now 1000% worse, more expensive, and socially toxic, 9 times out of 10 it’s because private equity got involved and turned it into an “industry.”
More Perfect Union@MorePerfectUS

NEW: Youth sports is now costing parents as much as $25,000 a year. Private equity and corporations are turning a childhood pastime into something only the wealthy can afford. Youth sports has become a $40 billion industry, and the steep costs are crushing American families.

Reminder: When the Panama Papers came out it revealed all the rich people in the world are part of an enormous criminal conspiracy to dodge taxes and hoard stolen wealth in offshore accounts and literally nothing happened except a reporter working on the story was assassinated.

very stupid. the NFL doesn’t have a tanking problem bc it doesn’t listen to this nonsense. every year NFL teams openly tank, even for 1 spot lower in the draft. week 18 is 1/3 unwatchable bc of it but no one cares bc Goodell isn’t dumb enough to change rules for gambling apps
De’Vion Hinton@stilldexhinton

The reason the NFL doesn't have as big of a tanking problem is because the safety risks built into the game of football force a certain level of self-seriousness/competence at the low end that NBA basketball doesn't require.
